Looks like it funnels into it, but you remove the restrictive (down and around) OEM piece so you get a straight shot of airflow. Similar to jonny tig. But with Tig you hack the fan shroud instead of remove it.
You also increase the amount of debris and bugs that make their way into the bottom of your factory box... Or engine bay if you have an intake, but would be interesting to see if they actually make a difference in reducing restriction on factory airbox. That should show us whether the bottle neck is at the snorkel or the air filter, or both.
Sign me up , will there be a introductory price or maybe a group discount...and install instructions are included right?? seems a little pricey for some ducts....
you the man bro do that group buy i know a lot of us will buy because of that and appreciatte it...let us know so we make the thread here and buy right away please....so whats up with the vivid racing intercooler and intake eta ??? hook us up man i got a friend that is not on the forum but will buy

We post info as it becomes available to us
I still have the intake and FMIC on my car driving it everyday to make sure theres no long term issues
Once thats done itll be moving forward
I'd like to see some before and after dyno numbers to see if these actually make a performance difference, or are primarily a cosmetic change. I'd also be concerned about altering the airflow into the radiator by removing that shroud.

Unless you have a fancy speed variable fan that matches the wheel speed on the dyno these are going to be hard to dyno.
I plan to try to test intake and filter temps before and after. I would imagine you will see a slight gain in power from the cooler air across the filter but I think you would see an equal if not bigger gain in lack of lost power from heat soak by having the cool air flow across the filter (kind of how an intercooler prevents lost power).
Also if my understanding of where that shroud fits, the two wings on the outside that trap air are actually for the intercooler and are blocked by the bumper. So they prevent some air from going around the IC. If your in Canada I wouldn’t expect to see any issues from losing that shroud.
I’m also planning on trying to trim the top of the shroud to allow the bottom to remain.

The shroud is for the radiator not the intercooler. You could put a hole in the shroud instead of remove it. I did this for a while before i had the courage to cut the shroud more for the jonny tig scoops.

After
Always interesting to hear different opinions on what might be happening with this modification, but it is only speculation. Any time factory designed systems are 're-engineered' I have serious doubts about what (and whether) actual gains are being made ...
