3.3TT KHARTUNERZ - NEW CATLESS SECONDARY DOWNPIPES Ark Performance

Amy drone? Smell?
No smell at all
There is no additional noise from the mid pipes, under your feet is quite. The stock mufflers are louder due to the freeing up of the exhaust. I did not get a catback yet because I'm not big on noise. In fact I had already purchased 20' of sound deading for the trunk, used it on last two cars, with the stinger being a hatchback it would be a very good investment if you want to reduce noise!
No drone but you will here your mufflers more if you don't line your trunk.
There is a nice little gurggle from the back when coasting at around 25-30mph.
I meet with a performance muffler shop next week, the owner knows I want to free up flow and minimize noise, I would like a bit deeper of a growl, I can update you on our solution once we we decide what we are going to do.
As a note: if you get sound deading for your trunk use your trunk liner as a template to get a nice clean edge and look.

Ok, lined my trunk from prior post to this, it's well worth it, muffles the additional muffler noise back to stock level or better and makes for more quite ride as it blocks other noise. Ran out, have to get three more sheets to do under battery and finish trunk liner. If you are like me and not big on noise rest assured you can get these pipes, lose two cats, line your trunk and noise will not be an issue at all.

Where do you buy that?

Dspec1, just FYI... I've used it a good bit, there are cheaper versions that don't work as well, fatmat is one of the best and usually priced better than dynamat. Noico is good. I used E.S.A. my last car was a fusion, did roof, trunk, doors, entire floor for a custom sound system. If your running a catback you can kill even more interior noise if you remove rear seats and place it under seats and under carpet in back seat. You can ignore front floor unless your completely catless, then doing front would help.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Thanks! This is very helpful!

Did you pull the battery and put deadening under it too?

I ran out, I will, need three more sheets. But the bit I put on underside of trunk liner helps to block the noise coming up from under battery.

Those with AWD orders be on lookout
Tracking will begin to go out

Are you full for the unbiased stock dyno runs? I’m interested and am debating on ordering for my GT2 AWD. 100% stock as I purchased the vehicle 3 weeks ago. Thanks.

Just ordered! Looking forward to these!!

Also bought the sound matting!

Ok Dyno Experts. This Thursday is the day I do a stock Dyno then install the Secondary Downpipe and do another. I've never done this before and in talking to my friend he said there is some things I need to know before I go so I can let the guy at the shop know how to do the dyno.

1. Weight of car (Can I just take what I find on google?)
2. What gear to do the pull in (For this I imagine I need to be in sport mode with Traction and everything off.)
3. What RPM is the rev limiter at so we don't hit it.
4. A friend recalled having to make some connections in the engine on his BMW but can't remember what it was for thinks it was torq but they couldn't figure out where so what connections need to happen on the Stinger?

I'm told the Dyno is a Mustang brand if that matters.

Biggest mistake is flooring the car too hard and pushing the kick down switch. Push throttle until they feel soft stop so the car stays in the same gear, 5th i think is normal , 1:1.

From reading my understanding is in sport with traction and everything off it would stay in the gear.

See answers below. You will need to turn traction control completely off, palce the car on sport mode (follow same procedure as if you were to use LC). Make sure you let the person doing the dyno run get familiar with the kick down switch. You can do this with the car off and have him/her push the gas pedal all the way down so they know where and how it feels so that they can avoid pressing it.

Info located on car sticker by the door jamb, or you can search online.

5th gear is 1:1

No need to hit the rev limiter. Lifting at 6k rpm will be good enough.
4. A friend recalled having to make some connections in the engine on his BMW but can't remember what it was for thinks it was torq but they couldn't figure out where so what connections need to happen on the Stinger?
Each dyno can read different parameters straight from the engine. Some critical ones are timing (by placing a sensor on one of the coil pack harness), AFR (by placing a sniffer on the exhaust) and boost (by T'ing in on the vacuum signal for the BOV's)

I'm told the Dyno is a Mustang brand if that matters.

Awesome thank you very much this was super helpful.

One other thing I was told to ask is if the car will throw CEL on the dyno since it's not moving and will it need time to reset between runs. Friends BMW totally flipped out when he dyno'd it and threw all kinds of codes because it was not moving and had to be driven around to reset it.

Thought of one other thing, at what speed/rpm should the pull be started in 5th gear?
