Jun BL or Borla

Instructions are pretty straight forward but I believe they are for the G80. We ran the tube through the area by the windshield washer fluid reservoir around the wheel well to the valves. Where you located?

I'm going. Another owner and myself were talking about meeting up before.

I am having a tough time deciding between Borla and Jun bl (GT or race version). I love the way the borla sounds but am hearing a lot of complaints that its to loud. I drove an 05 g35 coupe for 12 years and that was pretty noisy just with the stock exhaust so i dont know if the people complaining about loudness are coming from much quieter cars with no experience of loud exhaust. Does anybody have experience with the jun bl. Not seeing to many clips of sound other than in an garage with major echo.

What i would do because i like the car to be slightly on the quieter side. I would put in the catback from junbl and then add the downpipes if its still too quiet. that way you can also raise the noise and power with the downpipes.

Does anyone know which exhaust gives pops and gurgles? and between the evc, gt and race version of the junbl which is the loudest? i’ve noticed also that between the junbl exhausts, the GT seems to have the most horsepower gain with +39 or so hp and around 5.5lb torque so i’m leaning towards that one but am also hoping that i can get pops and gurgles like the good exhaust it should be. I know that although the borla may be insanely loud, i don’t believe it has the best horsepower gain. i’m trying to get the best performance and the best sound. so which one should i go for?

I have the Borla and I get wonderful pops and gurgles when lifting after accelerating and even more when decelerating coasting 1000-2500 RPM it is sooo cool; I also have Injen intakes. My neighbors love my car and exhaust they give me thumbs up when I drive by. Also turns alot of heads, people breaking their necks to hear what kind of car makes that sound.

I don't trust purported gains in HP from aftermarket exhaust manufacturer's

Borla S owner reporting in; I love my exhaust. I had previous experience with a Borla on a 2005 Miata that really brought the car to life; loved that car wish I still had it. Borla has been making performance exhausts in the USA since 1979; they have many years experience making Porsche's flat 6 sound better than factory, they make exhausts for Lambo's Aston's, BMW's Audi's etc. and you can't beat the million mile warranty. I don't think it's too loud and I've never had a complaint only compliments. That being said I bought mine from a Stinger owner who thought it was too loud for him; interestingly he's asked for me to send him videos of it installed and says mine sounds good:thumbdown: The exhaust note changed as it broke in, more throaty and pops and gurgles more which I love:) There is some drone when cruising at low RPM but doesn't bother me and I usually don't cruise at low RPM. I initially thought about putting sound deadening in the battery compartment but that not any more I actually drive with the back seats down a lot just to hear the exhaust notes better. Really depends on what you like and everyone's interpretation is going to be different; it sounds great to ME which is the only thing that matters:thumbup:

I have a Borla exhaust and Jun BL downpipes and I absolutely love the sound of it. That being said, it is definitely LOUD! I get the gurgles and pops, which I love. But it truly depends on your tastes. I'm still considering putting some sound deadening in the trunk because my girlfriend was like " I guess no more conversations in the car"... lol

@Bear What ever happened with your situation with the neighbors and their comments of the exhaust being too loud.

I moved my Cobra out to another county and told them that I’d at least move that car (which is god awful loud) away, but there was nothing I could do about the Stinger. So what I do is, I set my seat and everything and as soon as I start the car, I immediately put it into drive and slowly drive off. During the Winter, I just turn the butt warmers on. Figured if they wanted to be dicks and call the cops, it’d get ticketed, especially on cold start-up. They haven’t complained since and so I’m looking to add downpipes. Wonder how that’ll go down.

The Stinger really does have a deep sound especially on startup that you could hear inside you house, but it is faint.

I think I have it narrowed down to these two brands as well. But I'm still torn between the two.

One thing. I was in the “loud vs moderate exhaust” debate 10 years ago with the 5.0 Moustang.

I chose the quieter “sport” Corsa vs their extreme.

Regretted it.

Always go loudest!!!!!!! These aren’t boring family sedans.

I have a borla coming Monday.

I went for the Jun bl evc.
Was delivered to the UK today, looks well made.
'Just note any in UK purchasing one from Korea the Import tax is Heavy.'
Alas all I need now is my car so I can start playing mechanics

I’ve never heard the borla in person but I love my jun mid pipes and evc. Closed it’s very close to stock and open it sounds great. Slowing down for lights in sport mode you get lots of pops.

I've always been "old". It's a mindset. And although race car engines enthrall me, it makes little to no sense to buy a luxury car and turn it into what sounds like a hot rod. But if there is ONE thing on this planet that produces a wealth of decisions that make little to no sense, it is what people choose to do to their cars. :D
yeah , well I'm upgrading to the jun bl evc system.....I need the noise, lol

Going under a bridge or a tunnel with Borla is the freaking greatest!! Before I had the exhaust I used to keep the car in automatic, now i'm like 90% shifting my own gears so I can listen to the exhaust note.
