Jun BL or Borla

Just installed the Borla Type-S. It sounds great! I like the lower, throaty sound. Very easy install as well.

The Borla is fantastic... all of my neighbors have not only loved it... but want to go for a ride as well!! First aftermarket exhaust for me as well... but at $1100 installed can’t imagine getting more bang for the buck.
In reference to importsharks reference to quality... hard to beat the million mile warranty that Borla provides....what ever you decide... don’t purchase from the shark... just google his reviews

I have that feeling too.. listen to this. It's sound good.

I threw up in my mouth a bit listening to this.

People, this is a smaller cylinder V6. You can not make the exhaust sound "good". Is 6 WHP worth sounding like a guy that just ate a big ass burrito from a taco truck. Have more self respect then that.

Sounds are subjective, and it think it sounds great personally. No need to be rude about it if you're not a fan.

It is tough to get good and comparative sound clips on these two exhausts... but i kinda like em both! One is more GTR race-inspired while the other sounds more like a muscle car. no wrong move IMO

Everything is subjective but just bc it is loud does not mean it "sounds good". Most real car enthusiast prefer for there cars not to sound like a chain saw. Having too much uncontrolled rasp or too much cabin drone is what you should stay away from with exhaust modification. That is kind of the standard.

By this same token, I'd be totally pissed if I bought an exhaust that didn't make my car "louder".
I have owned my Borla exhaust a few months and everyone seems to love it! I've received many, many complements on mine and get thumbs up daily, so Borla did things well too.

Opinions are everywhere, but yours is funny. Our cars sound like a chainsaw? Yeah, there went ALL that credibility- (or I'll buy that chainsaw in a heartbeat).

Personally, I wanted an exhaust that sounded exotic, that is what I received. There was some sound control damping required to make mine so perfect (sound reverberates from the spare tire area). Now I consider mine about as perfect as I'd desire (for a non EVC system) but snowflakes might be offended- I don't want a quieter system, that was known.

An exhaust can be loud and sound "good". BUT SOUND is definitely "subjective" but then maybe we're not a car enthusiast like you?

I've seen a few mentions of what is required to make exhausts sound great- it's not easy on our turbo six cylinder motors to make great sound (and again, greatness is subjective).

I will attempt to link a thread written by Rainer Drees, M engineer responsible for the acoustic characteristics of M automobile for BMW M division and the difficulties (and why) faced making these smaller twin turbos sound good and perform well.
BMW M3 / M4 Sound and Exhaust System: Deep Dive and Interview

(maybe now it works??)

The engines are similar, but different. The goals should be similar. I love the M3/M4 BMW cars, but look at the complexity of that exhaust (is great as long as functional). I love me an m4.

Is great to have choices.

Hi Canoli, can you perhaps explain in a little bit more detail on the installation of the EVC button? Do you have to crank open the dashboard to install the button? thanks in advance
NO, cranking involved. There is a grommet on the driver side firewall where I ran the wire to the switch. I drilled a 20mm hole in the fuse box cover and put the switch there. You just have to a contortionist while you run the wire through the firewall.

I too have the JunBL GT non evic installed. At first I thought it was abit loud (no sound deadening in the hatch area I guess) but after a few drives it grew on me, and its just great.

My only quam with it is the Y connector to fit into the stock tips should have been longer. The pipe is just a wee bit short to get the JunBL tips inside the factory tips.

Where did you get the Jun tips?

Can you post some sound clips from inside and outside the car. I am also interested in the GT version of the Jun. Its hard to find people with the Jun GT exhaust.

Look for the Stinger Owners group on FB. One member did a very good job with the sound clips.

I have the EVC system on my Stinger

Salman, that's my baby in the video. If you have any questions shoot away. It wasn't that hard to install.

@Salman Can you describe the install of the EVC button?

I've called a couple of my local shops who i know well who will install the exhaust for a good price but they're only mechanical and concerned about the electrical side / switch.

Instructions are pretty straight forward but I believe they are for the G80. We ran the tube through the area by the windshield washer fluid reservoir around the wheel well to the valves. Where you located?
