JB4 v5 firmware posted

Hard to read as it's not all full throttle but post csv file if you want me to check it out later.

this is with the octane booster how does it look to u @Terry@BMS

There’s no where near enough data in that log, imho, to make a statement about the safety. If anything based on that limited data, I would not run that again without tweaking.

The AFR looks “shocked”. Graphs alone look cool, but actual numbers from the log are more telling.

Terry has said in the past that ideally logging should be done: 1500rpm to redline in 4th. Or 40-100mph

I’d personally want to see 0-100 WOT if it was my logging. Or as high as I could get it... I guess the 4th gear pull puts the engine under worst case stress for “lugging” it...

Ideally I like to see a higher gear full sweep, and one shift. Like a 4-5, or a 3-4-5, where you start at 2000rpm or so.

Is that for the engine loading/lugging to show the engine under full strain?

Right, want to see full load so we can accurately evaluate boost control, timing, air/fuel ratio, fuel trims, etc.

Awesome, I was just getting confirmation. I’ve ran no less than 40 tune revisions on the EcoBoost 3.5L from 3 separate tuners....

I tested A LOT of tunes. I’m anal with a data log.

Good, but no need to be with the JB4. It's just about double checking a new install to ensure it's working as it should be. We offer a JB4 for the EcoBoost motors too. ;)

We need JB4 on the patrol cars then

Running too much boost for your octane may result in misfires, timing pull which will be apparent in logs, making less power than map2, etc. Not going to blow a turbo or cause smoking. I'd look to your bolt on hardware for that.

Blow off valve and dps are primary suspects, if you did an oil catch can kit those also can cause smoking if not designed properly. Tell me more about your blow off valve kit, did it use the factory control solenoid?

@Terry@BMS I'm curious. How/why could/would DPs cause such an issue?

I have no idea what that guys issue was or whether it was downpipe related. Never heard from him. Did he make a thread with what the issue was?

Turned out to be his timing cover gasket per the 2nd dealership he brought it to.

@Terry@BMS i posted a log in the Kia forum on N54 forums. The attachment is too large to post here. If you get a chance can you take a look at it?

I just got everything installed including fuel wires.

In terms of map3 on 93 octane you'd want to look at the logs to evaluate it, but I expect it will work fine for most.

Circling back to the map 3 93 octane talk, would it be a no no if fuel wires aren't being used ?

For anyone serious about performance I'd add in the fuel wires. You may be able to get away on map3 on 93 octane without them, but you'll be making less power for sure.

Is there a BoV that's recommended? I miss my lame turbo sounds.

There’s a few options. Go to BurgerMotorsports and check. Mine are vented to atmosphere and don’t sound bad.
