And that's with just plain ole high quality 93? No octane booster, e85, or any other witchcraft? Any idea how many miles it may have been in those few weeks?
Not sure. Around 1000 went to my dads and he lives 300 miles away.
Also, I beat on my girl. Raced a wrx, zl1 and a 5 series since map 3. One was on the highway for about 15 miles lol.
It's a nice bump from 2 to 3. This weekend I'm doing my exhaust and running some 101 octane on map 5 should be fun.Nice! I downloaded V5 firmware this afternoon. Gonna try it out in the morning.
Did you use version 5 that says "5.hex" or "5_T5.hex"?
I don't recommend using map 3 or higher on 93 octane, my friend used map 3 on 93 octane to do a dyno pull and he is now leaking oil. He had to take off his JT intercooler and High flow cats and midpipe and blow off valves to take the car back to the dealer. He will be taking the car to the dealer tomorrow, He believes the damage was caused by using the JB4 on map 3 on 93 octane.....will keep everyone updated......
Yup I just edited my post. A few people have had serious issues with aftermarket BOVs already. This is now the 5th person. That's when his issues started after he did the BOVs. You can run into some serious issues if everything isnt timed properly. I'm sure @Terry@BMS can chime in on that.Yes Anthony , but he is not that moded dude I have just as many mods as he does ..... and we’re not sure where he is leaking oil from but white smoke was coming out .. so maybe the turbos seals I am not sure once he takes to the dealer tomorrow I will keep everyone updated ... he also had oil on his blow off valves or the lines that go there ... will provide more details in the next days just be careful
I personally dont know where the oil is coming from or what caused it...hes has HKS BOV I dont see why the BOV will cause that there high quality and trusted name.....Now I know for a fact that issue started after he had his dyno session and ran map 3 on the dyno on 93 octane.....FYI I am aware that JB4 clearly states to use E30 mix or high octane fuel for map 3.... All im saying is for all those with JB4 do not run map 3 unless you have the proper fuel....He will need to figure out where oil is coming from, turbo, pcv, rings, etc, and then based on that we can speculate as to why. More boost more problems holds true, but may be as simple as a poorly designed bov kit taking out a turbo.
To answer your question dont do it.....the one person that did F up his car....Anyone running Map 3 with 93 octane alone (no e85 mix)?
