Finally picked up the car last Friday and straight away had a rattle over the driver door which is being seen to on Monday(Temporarily fixed by wedging a thick piece of card in the rubber seal) but the thing that is annoying me most is while driving I have a noise which I can only compare to the sound of somebody blowing over the top of an open glass bottle. It's constant and I can feel it in my left inner ear which still feels like it needs to pop now an hour after getting out of the car it's like temporary tinnitus.
We're taking another stinger out on Monday to see if it still makes the same noise. My partner says she can hear it as a hum but everybody perceives sound differently, wonder if anybody else experiences it.
It's certainly not something I can live with for 3 years.

FWIW - I have a slight humming/buzzing sound as well. It's like a subwoofer is on a very low frequency. I chalked it up as the exhaust (stock) and the Michelin tires on the car. Does the note change when you crack a window? It doesn't bother me, but I did go to breakfast one morning slightly hung over and it wasn't all that pleasant lol

Not sure if it's the same thing I'm getting but I describe my strange noise as a wind buffeting sound, like a rear window is down. I also have a weird noise at around 35 - 40 mph, some sort of vibration. Thought it was the tires but they have been changed and it still occurs. Not sure what it could be.

The same "leak air" sound happens in my car but at 50-60 mph. I lubricate the weatherstrip doors and window rubbers with silicon without success. I tried to adjust the door stricker, but it was not possible. So ???

I've noticed this same low frequency sound as others above mentioned. I only notice it during the first few miles of driving after the car has sat overnight. I have assumed it is the tires getting slightly flat spotted until they spin a few times and warm up. I've never notices the issue/sound once the car is warmed up.

It's constant and doesn't seem to change pitch with speed. I'm wondering if it's acoustic noise from air passing through the front/rear wheel vents.

I guess now we know why the radio is there for some of you owners....what else can you do?
'cept get it fixed before the bumper to bumper expires...

Also hearing this humming noise. It feels it’s coming from the tire contacting the road. The sound is more prominent what braking... Anyone know the cause?

Don't know what you are getting on yours but I thought mine was tire noise as it occurs between 35-40 mph in normal driving, accelerating and slowing down. I have changed my tires since and it is still there. The buffeting sound is not as constant so i haven'e been able to nail it down yet. Next time it occurs, I'll note the conditions.

Typically technician said he couldn't hear anything on the drive out. Took another car out which made a similar noise then on the way back home the passenger A pillar started making noise and now I'm home I've got earache again! Not happy. I really wanted to love this car but I think it's going back and I'll see what they give me & pay off the finance company of which I've got 3 days left to do I can't enjoy having it when I feel like crap every time i get home.

What sort of noise coming from the A pillar could give an earache? Yours is the oddest rejection I've read so far. And I am sorry that the car you have is not working out.:(

The humming noise frequency gives me earache! The pillar noise creak, possibly seatbelt retainer is something that just started making a noise things that can possibly be rectified but the humming noise just seems like something attached to this model and I don't want to have to just put up with it for 3years and not enjoy it.

Oh. I believe you mean the B pillar, then. Not that the difference makes any difference.

So the new "creak" from the pillar area isn't a deal breaker. But the constant humming is, is that right?

Does it increase with speed? It's only a moving noise, not an engine or idling tranny noise?

I wouldn't just say the dealership guys riding in the car and saying they don't hear anything unusual are lying out of hand. Hearing is our most subjective sense, and our most sensitive. What drives one person berserk will (literally) go in one ear and out the other for everybody else. Deafness is an enormous factor: some ears are literally tone deaf for certain ranges of sound. While you get an ear ache! Doesn't seem reasonable to have to suffer such a fundamental affliction when you like a car! I wish I had some suggestions for a "cure"; not you, the car. All I can think of is the obvious: try different tires; turn the music up; find a Stinger that doesn't do it. Whatever!

Braking noises of all sorts are actually a warning in the manual, and considered "normal operation". But it shouldn't have anything to do with a constant "humming" noise.

Had to seal the deal with ''whatever''?!.......lol.. It was a good post til then.....read it back to yourself ,you'll see what I mean.

It was to me, I feel hopeless. I'll let it stand.

lol no it's all good.......it's fine.....I just get a picture of a teenaged girl mechanic from the valley.......Must be the swing shift I'm doing.

No direct experience, but some things come to mind for the OP -

1. Is it possible it's a bad speaker making the humming noise?
2. Could it be the "piped-in" engine sounds?
3. Could it be the A/C fan sound?
4. Does the car have active noise cancellation built into the sound system? You might be able to hear the "white noise" from that.
5. Other than those things, I would guess it's an air leak noise. Maybe a window isn't sealing properly against the weatherstripping.

Good luck with it.

^^^ You might be on to something, the radio /audio might be in a aggressive mode (speed of the car)...and if there is a speaker defect it will be enhanced while driving.

This morning I took a slower route due to traffic backups and I experienced it for an extended period. The humming, buffeting or whatever you call that sound was present and I did feel it in my ears. It wasn't the audio system, nor the ac system, turned both off to eliminate them. It hasn't been factually proven the car has any noise cancellation system built in so I can't say this places a role. The sound was certainly present from 35 mph up to 48 mph this morning. I think I felt it more as I think I'm getting a cold so the sinuses are a bit blocked. I'm going to take it in to be checked.
