Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

Full UVO access via smartphone (e.g., remote start, door opening/tampering alerts, horn, lights, hvac controls, etc.) this is a +$50k vehicle, right?

As we all know, this feature is offered in Canada. Enjoy the car but disappointed by Kia’s market variance decisions for the Stinger.

If Kia really wants to win, throw everything at this vehicle and let the Genesis G70 (and it’s associated features) stand on its own.

Does the navigation traffic lines (green/yellow/red) only show up for interstates?

Surface streets are just the standard tanish color and only the interstates show up with traffic info for me. If I hit the traffic button it shows me a list of traffic incidents but not if traffic is backed up or going slow. Is that how the Sirus Traffic feature functions?

ah, thank you, now the arrows make sense. .

the automatic headlight sensors are ticking me off a bit placement up to high on the dash it could be sunny out and if the sensor is in the shade it kicks the headlights on. anyone else having this issue?

my genesis sensor was up by the rearview mirror and it was very good at knowing when to kick headlights on and off.

So, what do you see on your UVO? None of these?

I have discovered that the volume knob and the air vent knob are virtually dimensionally identical.

I don't want to know how you discovered the knobs are the same size...

I know that when I've drove around in Chattanooga, TN (been back and forth a few times since I got the car from there) that it was showing traffic lines that were fairly accurate on the highway as well, and not just the two interstates running through the city. Probably going to be a function of how much traffic reporting systems the roadway has in place. For instance the main highway through Hixon and Hamilton in Chattanooga (153) is loaded with traffic observation cameras, and I know it shows up colored on the car's nav map.

Tend to agree. Kind of wish there was more of a delay. They go on as soon as I go through an underpass; only to turn off again on exit.

When music is playing I sometimes realise I’ve had my turn signal on for ages, like an idiot. My sight line of both dash turn indicators are hidden by the steering wheel. When I move the wheel to improve the view, the placement of the wheel doesn’t seem natural anymore.

Yes! The way I have it set Is just covering the blinkers. And I have forgotten I've had them on at times too.

Are you not using the one touch for lane changing?

As i'd assume that if you're turning a corner they'd auto self cancel.

Same here. Also, is it just me or does this car take more steering input to turn the turn signals off? I’ve gone around a few corners that would trigger my old car to turn off the turn signals only to see them still blinking.

That's the issue. Sometimes I'll be cutting through traffic, thinking I one touched but actually did a hard touch. Or I'll be talking to someone in the car and same thing. I look down at my speed quite often. Very easy to go way over speed limit in the stinger.

Would be nice if the indicators were inside the speedo and/or integrated in the HUD.

Have you guys found out anything you didn’t know the Stinger could do or function you didn’t know it had or anything quirky since owning?

I didn’t know it has smart tailgate and on sport mode, my speed is italicised on the HUD

Great thread to start off. Have to wait til my car gets here before i can comment.
Welcoming aboard!
