A test drive will only provide you with a limited amount of time with the car. As one then owns the car, discoveries on features, details, and experiences surface.

Post your discoveries that surprised you in this thread, the great or not so great ones.

I will kick it off with the fabric-based wind deflector I was pleasantly surprised to see since not even my current RX has it. Very nice detail! Of course, not to mention the power sunshade, again not in any Lexus/Audi I've owned.

Not sure if anyone already noted this one - but given the start of Daylight Savings Time I went thru a couple of menus to figure out how to adjust the clock. Before I found the answer I figured I would just push on the touch screen where the clock is - BINGO - it then gives you options for GPS-adjust and Daylight Savings Time option. Check the box and presto. Much simpler than moving the clock...

Here's a bizarre one related to the onboard clock on the Stinger. When DST started at 2 am on Sunday morning, my smartphone became very confused about telling time. Some system features and apps properly made the "spring forward" time change, but others did not. I use my phone as my alarm clock, and on Sunday morning it went off an hour late.

Despite multiple efforts (e.g., restarting the phone, searching through all the settings, etc.) I couldn't get my phone to consistently show the correct time. Then when I drove my Stinger on Sunday morning, I discovered that the clock on the infotainment screen was also an hour behind. After some searching through various menus, I found that the check box for Daylight Savings Time was blank. Checked the box, and voilà, the correct time showed on both the infotainment screen - and everywhere on my smartphone!

Seems pretty weird that my Stinger can control/screw up how my smartphone tells time.

Of course it's in the manual, but wo reads that...discovered that you can disable the side mirror tilt down feature (when in reverse) by setting the mirror rocker switch (in the drivers side arm rest) to the middle. When set to either left or right the mirrors tilt down....Quite cool, and only took me 1700km to find that out.

i just noticed something the other day when i got to sit in the mrs stinger. the fuel icon shows an arrow pointing to which side of the car the filler neck is, but the fuel gauge shows it pointing in the opposite direction. has anyone else noticed this?

Yeah there is a thread on this. The arrow at the top of the cluster is just using the arrow to indicate miles to go. The arrow in the gauge, like every other car, is what side the filler cap is on.

Disturbances in the space-time continuum?

I think you might be onto something, but since Stephen Hawking died, we can't confirm it.

Guess it will just have to go down as one of those mysteries beyond human comprehension.

I cannot set the heater to blow just to the feet. On the infotainment screen it shows the arrow to the floor board only but it blows the floor board and the front defroster also. There is another setting that shows the arrows on the infotainment blowing to floor board and the front defroster, which what it does. I want feet heat only!!!

Hmmmm, one-off problem or design flaw in the climate system?

It does that when there is any moisture on the windshield. My Optima did the same thing.

After the moisture is dried to computer relinquishes control of the HVAC to you.

I only just notced that when the drive mode is in smart mode. The SMART logo to the left of the distance to empty info the dash changes from green to white to red as your driving style changes from ECO to NORMAL to SPORT.
I like it!

Do you like using smart? Think it's useful/helpful in city driving?

I only just started using it on my way home from work so I need a bit more time to try it in different driving conditions. Seems to work ok so far though.

So far, I feel that Smart varies throttle response, etc. as it goes from Eco to Comfort and sometimes Sport. Undependable throttle response really irks me. I'll likely give it another chance. But I'm finally getting weather I can try Sport out. So doing that now. LOL
