Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

Bad discovery...only the 8-inch nav displays have HD Radio.

Pretty pissed about that. Mainly the principle. Cheap Mazdas have that standard.

A few I've come across:
If you open the door and take off your seatbelt with it in gear, it automatically shifts to park.

If you're low on gas, a pop-up appears on the nav screen asking if you want to search for gas stations.

The panic horn is hilarious; sounds like something off a kid's toy car.
The seatbelt/Park feature is in response to the 2015 Grand Cherokee and Charger running their owners over, owners were mistakingly leaving them in gear and getting out of the vehicle, only to walk around it and have it pin them to a wall or run them over. Most famous was Anton Yelchin. Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin dies aged 27 in LA home driveway after car crash | Daily Mail Online

Sweet! Where on earth did you uncover that? That will be a welcome addition!

Hopefully they will also be able to make the app more responsive at the same time. There is far too much waiting for the next screen, presumably because of too many (and too slow) communications with the server. It is literally quicker to do banking on my phone than remote start the car. I realize the clear advantage of remote start by cellular, but it was sooo easy to just double click a button on my previous key fob.
It’s stupid slow on my Grand Cherokee too.

I'm rather enjoying this thread and it's format. But I've been here since the start. Perhaps a way to summarize all of the "discoveries" in the top post or somewhere can help? Like a cheatsheet of cool stuff to know your car can do?

Got in the car, low tire pressure warning came on and indicated which tire was low but didn’t tell me what the pressure was. I had to drive for 30s or so before they displayed.

No, I think it says in the manual that the TPMS takes a short time to become active and read pressures.

Yeahpretty sure it’s using the rotation of the wheels to calculate the tire pressure. Just frustrating to get that light and not know if it’s 5psi down or flat.

I thought the same!
I got my car last year and all that time I was thinking maybe I would be the only non-Korean with a Stinger.
Interesting also that we got the same color and happen to meet on the same forum.
I don't think there are other people than the two of us. The odds are too low. :D
Anyway, nice to meet you. I live in the Suwon area but distance is not a big problem and we should definitely meet some day.

Another non-korean in Korea here.
The penny hasnt dropped yet but it cant be too far off :)

You sure about that? The KIA website seem to indicate otherwise.....

Yeah, unfortunately. That doesn't say anything about HD Radio, only Sirius. The 7inch displays have SiriusXM but no HD. Confirmed it with my dealer, too (for what that's worth).

The 8inch displays have "HD Radio" printed right on the bezel, 7inch doesn't.

That's normal.

That would be awesome but would be time-intensive. I just don't have the free time available. Eventually this discussion will have a thousand pages of varying information everywhere with important how to's and fixes that could/should be properly categorized...
