I phoned the dealership today and they told me there is no update available to my vehicle VIN number on KIA database.
Strange... I will go there in a few days with the picture of that update for them to check.
Are maybe the updatescontry dependant??

Pretty sure it's across all EU market because it's related to the Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) which was only fitted to respect the Euro 6D Temp emissions restrictions. So only to cars sold in the EU.
The only way yours would not be covered is if it was made either before Aug 2018 (no GPF) or beginning of 2021(with new ECU software).
What is your power output? 188kw (255hp) or 180kw (245hp)?

I agree with you, 7Andrei7. My unit is from 2019 and 245 hp, so GPF on.
I will go to the dealership with the car in a few days and explain all this in person, I guess they don't know which firmware version is in the ECU without connect it to the diagnosis machine.

One other colleague in Spain was there in other region a few days ago and showed up the picture you attached with the ECU firmware info to them. They told him there is a campaign to solve problems on the GPF, when the GPF light appears on on the panel. I have never seen that light on.

Were you guys having this light on on your panels??

I never had that light come on before the update, although I read about others having that on a UK forum I think.
The description that the dealer gave might not be precise, I would assume it is the right update. It would surprise me if Kia had multiple different ECU updates related to GPF available at the same time...

How was the flow with the dealership in your countries?

You mentioned about the upgrade and then they checked it out and they found there was that update available for your unit, or you had to insist and insist on the issue for them to accept to upgrade de ECU?

For me (Romania) it was very hard to explain and to prove. Only when I showed them video recordings with the car at constant speed on highway, sometimes with around 8 l/100km consumption and other times with 11 l/100km did they understand and tried to help.
At that time there was no update as it seems I was one of the first customers to report the problem. First they cleaned my GPF filters and replaced the heat sensors of the GPF. This only solved the problem for about 3000km.
Then they were informed by KIA that there is a new software being developed and about 4 months later they called me and installed a Test ECU (with this new software). They said I was one of the first 3 in EU to receive a test ecu along with a customer in Austria and one in Poland. I had to go back after a few thousand km so they could read the parameters and send them to KIA.
About a month later there was the official recall and they called another friend from Romania with the same engine to have the update.
Then they also called me back to put back my original ECU with the new software installed.
I don't think it has anything to do with the GPF light. As long as you report the problem and your car is produced in 2019-2020, they should do the update.

Finally I got the upgrade today, to the same version you were talking about, CKDJEA0TRF2C.

People from the dealership looked to me with a lot of scepticism while I was explaining all this long story, but at the end, they properly understood the problem I was reporting. They connected the car to the diagnosis machine and the upgrade was shown as required to my car, so they did it.

As soon as I took the car off the pit, engine jerks disappeared, and the coasting mode (never seen whereas extra fuel consumption happening) and the normal fuel usage appeared again.

The car flows again smooth and fine as always it should have been, so I am very happy today!!

I wanna thank you guys, for your efforts in solving this issue and sharing all this information.

i have a Kia Stinger 2.0t 2019 and i have the GPF light but mine is constant lit, no flashing, also when i start the car up i get a 'check exhaust system' i have took it on long journeys 'motorways' but nothing is clearing it, i took it into a kia dealership a couple of weeks ago for a service (6 months) and even they couldnt get rid of it, just told me to continue driving. cant even sell the car at the moment because of this..

just an update, i took the car into KIA and they did the software update, then took the car out for a drive but still could not remove the gpf error, they also did an emissions test and everything was fine, they believe it maybe internal and i will have to leave the car with them for the week. booked in for march.

If it is this enginesymbol you get, then it definitely is a malfunction. If the car doesn't get into limp home mode then you can get this e.g. when the particle filter differential pressure sensor is broken or full of carbon.

If you get the symbol, that just means it sees a too high differential pressure and wants to regenerate the particle filter and you need to drive +80 km/h for a length of time. It is not considered an error. I had this come up once and it needed about 20 or 30 minutes of relaxed (=important) highway driving for it to clear.

hi Kris, i dont get any check engine light and also no limp mode luckily, that second image is what i have on my cluster and it flashes none stop, i also have a warning message when i start the car which says 'check exhaust system' i will continue to do high driving to see if anything changes

If it is lit constant, that means regeneration by driving should be possible.
But if it flashes, I think that means that forced regeneration (by Kia) is required, but they did that already?
I would limit driving the car, because it can clog up the filter to the point where the car will not drive anymore.

yes they have already done the forced regeneration, the car is driving fine though, no loss of power etc, i have limited using the car for the time being
