{{ ImportShark }} NEW! NGM's Two New Axleback Exhausts

Ok, so long story short, we've had a good amount of inquires from potential customers NOT located in the USA. If inventories are imported here to our warehouse locations either in California or New York, then re-shipping to locations like Australia, NZ, the Middle East, etc will result in these individuals having to pay a premium. The alternative was keeping a portion of the inventory at NGM's Asia warehouse and they can simply drop-ship international orders for us. However, since some countries have a limitation on parcel size for EMS shipping services, that would force us to upgrade to another shipping category, such as EMS Premium, DHL or Fedex. Again, higher cost. After discussing this with the factory, they suggested to make each pipe multiple parts so as to reduce the shipping size. Pretty simple solution really. Instead of using flanges, they are going to make it so the pipes can slip into one another and get clamped in place. This would keep the cost to a very reasonable level no matter where the final destination is. We technically wouldn't even have to import a large inventory here to the US for domestic (and Canadian) customers since the overall cost would be similar. Of course, we'd like to do so just to have the parts physically in hand, but since we've got Asian warehouse space as well, then that can be utilized too. So basically, where we're at is simply going through the re-do of the tooling jig, samples and then calculating final costs. I'd rather not put an estimate on when these will be available, but it won't be much longer. Maybe 2 weeks. Again though, don't quote me on that. I'll post an update as soon as possible.

Ok...

Besides the questionable "look" of the multiple piece/clamp, my concern with the clamp system is vibration over time.

No concerns at all. Tons of aftermarket exhausts are constructed this way to no ill effect.

I'm interested, sad to see they cut it it up over logistics...
It doesn't make any difference in performance...just makes it easier and less expensive to ship--not just for international consideration but also here in the US too.

will there be an option to just pick it up for those of us near a warehouse?

How close are we to pricing?
I'm really pushing them to get me the revised samples so we can finalize that and shipping costs

We'll most likely use our west coast warehouse when the full inventory is stocked up in the US. Anyone in SoCal is welcome to do a local pickup

Can I please request some in car video at freeway speed to determine the interior sound level for each system? Although these systems make the car sound great from the outside, I'd rather not have an obnoxious droning on the inside. Thanks in advance.

A dB reading would be awesome too

Where in SoCal?

....you cut the exhaust and you're slipping one piece inside the other and clamping with a.... is that a worm gear clamp?? no thanks.... there's a reason all exhaust connections have flanges and gaskets.

Probably a V-Band clamp? Not uncommon.

It's extremely common actually...

Hey Mike. Just curious if any updates? Hope these will still be an option as I'm not sold on one of the expensive cat-back system yet. Thanks in advance.

We've got a revised version arriving within the week. If that final tweak checks out, figure 2-3 weeks and full inventory will be available. It will be soon, that's for sure.

And could you please take some in cabin video at freeway speeds to determine sound level inside as well as outside
