{{ ImportShark }} NEW! NGM's Two New Axleback Exhausts

Did I miss pricing somewhere?
Not posted yet as we're still working out the details. There are a bunch of factors to go into consideration, but primarily how much inventory we're going to buy and where everything is going to ship from. NGM can have their factory ship out each order for us, we can have inventory imported here to the US and we'll handle customer shipping or a combo of both. I think the combo of both option would be best since international contingent makes up a good deal of the market, and I wouldn't want their costs to be raised unnecessarily by having import costs to the US added in only to have the part exported right back out. Even shipping to Canada would probably be cheaper overall if the factory handles that for us. I have to admit I'm really impressed with their packaging, so I'd be more comfortable with them drop-shipping than a lot of other companies. On the flip side, if inventory is imported here to the States, the cost for domestic buyers will have the lowest price of all. So yea.... #vendorproblems I guess. ;)

Are you able to give us any personal impressions of the two systems regarding overall loudness, drone, quality of the sound? Even with video its sometimes hard to judge the quality of the exhaust sound without hearing it in person.

Well I only just put the Zeta on the car this afternoon and have much less time with it, whereas the Omega was on for a few days. My initial impression is that they're actually pretty similar. I'm going to assume that's because the Omega's muffler is so small. You can definitely hear the Zeta is louder, but inside the cabin they're both about the same amount of volume, especially around the 2k RPM mark. The Zeta has a more aggressive growl, whereas the Omega is just a bit quieter (it doesn't get to that high RPM scream like the Zeta). There's zero rattle too, which is a big plus--but that's to be expected with the stock mid-pipes and downpipes. The fit on both looks to be spot-on perfect too. Quality-wise, NGM's known to make top-end stuff, and from what I can see with these two pre-production units, that's no different now. They don't do a full mirror-like polish on their exhausts, which I assume is to keep the cost down. It's still polished, but after a short while on a car in the elements, who really cares about that anyway? I can live without a mirror-like finish out of the box. Speaking of which, their packaging was excellent--they use that form-fitting foam poured into the carton which adds the bulk of the protection during transit for the pipes. (Each are also in bubble wrap).

Thanks for posting a thorough video on each axle back type, at startup and takeoff!

I can tell the Zeta is a little louder with a tad more rumble. Both are really good and the sound I am looking for.

Can you clarify one thing though. The tips from your axle back pics look to be round yet your video has the OEM-looking oval exhaust tips. How did you manage that?

Can you provide pricing shipped to Canada (I will assume in USD)? PM me if you prefer. Thanks!

Im pretty sure the exhaust reuses the factory tips. The round pipe at the end of the axel back fit into the openings of the factory tips.

See his previous post on pricing I quoted above.

Thanks makes sense the exhaust uses the OEM tips but the piping size looks at least 2 inches in diameter - would that fit in or simply adjacent to the OEM tips? Also, would the OEM tips need to be cut off the OEM exhaust and welded to the NGM's?

Yeah, hoping pricing gets sorted soon since I will otherwise be looking into a custom exhaust locally. Stinger is too quiet, I need some growl!! :D

Yup, as DaJackson mentioned above, the OEM tips are used. They're physically attached to the rear bumper, so the OEM muffler sections and NGM's axlebacks just slip right in.

We should have pricing and availability within the next 2 weeks.

The stock tips and NGM's kinda just float right in the middle of the OEM tips. There's zero modification needed! Bolt off, bolt on. Done!

..drone ?

When can we hear them on a 2.0?

When can we hear them on a 2.0?
We're going to be doing an install for a 2.0L intake within the next couple weeks. At the same time I'm planning to get the car up on a lift and see how these fit. Should be the same as the 3.3 but just gotta be sure!

Any word on pricing yet?

Are there any peformance increases with either of these?
Yes, absolutely. The OEM muffler sections are so ridiculously restrictive even the ultra-accurate butt-dyno can tell the difference ;)

Any word on pricing yet?
+1
It's well past the "within the next two weeks" mark without any proactive update.
Trust me, I know I know...I've been meaning to get a total cost in here. There was a slight design change. I'll see if I can get a pic to help illustrate and elaborate on where we're at.
