Sorry if threads like this already exist.

So if you have $2000 to put into a Stinger (3.3 AWD in my case), what would you put into it to increase the performance as much as possible?

Mainly asking because I pick my stinger up on Friday, and I'm definitely hoping to beef her up shortly after!

JB4, intakes (several good options, I like my Injens). Maybe midpipe. You're under 2k with that. Of course, diving into the suspension adds up fast if you're having a shop do the work.

Keep the 2000 in an interest bearing account. Drive the car for 6 months so you know first hand how the car performs, for how you like to drive. Read up on what other people have done to their cars, why they did it, what equipment they used, and how they liked the results.

Then decide for yourself what areas you think can be improved though modifications.

Well said. I lacked the patience for that approach, but it certainly has merit.

This.

I'm not smart enough to do the smart thing :(
Plus I'm not patient.

I think the word for this is reckless? Hmmmmmm

What do you think an average gain would be with that?

I would say take @SteveCo's advice. I found my cars power performance to be more than adequate (to me), but I would like little bit better cornering performance/feel. So I am going for sways. Few went just for springs over sway for look. Some went for permutaion and combinations of exhaust, intake and chip. And I find all of those mods worth.

I believe one thing you said. Impatient. You neither think of yourself as not smart or reckless. So that is the long way of saying you're being disingenuous.

Asking for advice/suggestions is the opposite of reckless.

If you like modding, then dive in. Or if you want to know the stock car first, put modding off until you know the car.

There are plenty of recommendations on this forum. Reading and watching videos is how I ended up with the only performance mod that I've indulged in (yet).

And to answer your question: rear sway bar should be the first thing you replace. After that, front sway bar (maybe; depends on if the rear sway bar adequately fulfills your expectations). Then you've done the simplest, cheapest mod for the biggest change. The field is open after that.

Ok I like reckless. First thing you do is recalculate your 2G's into USD so ya got about $1450. Now the first mod you do is get rid of the ridiculous factory Kia badging and rebadge. Sal will help you with this and part you of 2 hun+. Down to $1200. Injen intake and Velossa Tech Big Mouths are next. Now you are down to 2 hundred bucks. May as well use that to buy gas, cause once you get behind the wheel of one of these beauties you'll sure as shit go through the stuff. Cheers, welcome and happy modding. Oh, what part of Kanerda ya from ehh.

Hmm. Don't disagree, exactly, but I do think it's particular to the individual. For me the handling stock was acceptable, but I wanted more oomph as soon as I learned how relatively inexpensive it was to come by. So that happened first. For others cornering is the key, hence your rear sway. All a matter of personal preference, I think.

But I'll do the sways eventually;)

Eibachs Pro springs and Eibach swaybars (front and rear). Replace the brake pads.

Pocket anything left over.

Interest bearing account? Your return would likely be 4-5 percent in a very good stretch. So you made yourself <100 dollars in 6 months. Jb4, intakes, Intercooler, turbo-back exhaust will get you 430-450 whp. The exhaust will be the most priciest though.

It depends on what you want to do with the car.
If you're looking for more power, I would recommend the JB4 and plugs upgrade. If you're looking for a better handling, I would recommend the Eibach, and maybe better brake pads. If you're looking for aesthetics, why not get a nice set of wheels.

Thats easy. $900 for Tork tune. Intake, diy for $100 or Tork for $200, $900 for fmic and 60$ for denso plugs. 11.9 car for 2k$.

JB4, denso plug swap kit, BMS intake for around $1050 and save the rest. :)
