If you have $2000 to put into a stinger

You car does not suck lol, we have the same car.

Looks like you have more mods than I do. The only issue I see with your mods is the "Race Chip". Give that Race chip away and buy a JB4.

Hit the Track and see what times you get. I personally don't use Dragy. I assume you must have a 1/4 drag strip in Canada?

I ran 12.5 last year with just DIY intakes and SSR Downpipes with the JB4 on Map 2 with the old firmware. You have a good set up you just need to raffle that Race chip and get a JB4. If you want to go a step further and fuel is an issue in your area get WMI kit.

Angel will sell you his jb4 when he moves to an ecu tune! Lol. Unless he keeps it for WMI.

1. JB4 ($479)
2. Denso Plugs ($60)
3. DIY Intake ($100) or Aftermarket intake ($300-$400)
4. Secondary Downpipe ($459)
5. Intercooler ($600)

Total $1698 (with DIY intakes) or $1998 ( With aftermarket intakes)

If you are mechanically inclined you can install all these parts yourself. There are videos on you tube for all the installs.

Otherwise then you have the add the labor cost which should only be for the downpipes and maybe the intercooler.

Living in Canada sucks for car guys lol, ridiculously expensive to get parts.
There are multiple refineries producing gasoline, owned by different entities, that use well established refining processes and additive packages for gasoline serving many markets across Canada. They have been doing so for decades.

Gasoline has to meet regulated standards to be sold in Canada, including the advertised AKI (R+M/2) octane rating. I've yet to see any empirical evidence to support a claim that Canadian gasoline in general is 'not very good' - if you have some, please provide it as I'm keen to to where this comes from.

We have simulated pump gas octane numbers via additives. With the majority of cars on the road the simulated octane works fine, with forced induction engines, they'll know boosted octane vs additive free octane numbers.

All pumps say upto 10% ethanol on all octane levels. Only Shell pumps specifically say the 91 octane contains no ethanol. But the lower grades do and they say so themselves. You haven't seen any evidence because no research and testing needed when the supplier themselves is not lying, they have this ethanol additive disclaimer in all gas station pumps.

On a dif

On a different note how do you like the UP intercooler?

Did you notice a difference after installing the Sub frame bolt spacers?

TBH Angel , I never had a problem with the subframe but after the speed I had the car up to before ,, I thought I would just be careful and have them added, but I have not really notice anything ,, UP intercooler I like as is said to drop the Temps down by 70 degrees when pushed hard, and , when I get the chance and check out the area first but the Dyno will tell me ,safety first lol. I was told yesterday to put back on my CAts from the mid pipes but they are gone so I will be careful not to over spool up ,, so I will keep things the way they are for now ,, hitting the Dyno next Sunday for 2 pulls and see if any WHP changes occur ! On another note the two Dynos I have used are both Dyno Coms which are said to read like Mustang Dynos !MY WHP sucked 320 to 337 whp torque was very good 552 not sure why the numbers are so weird lol
It would be great to at least gain a few more Ponies in the end LOL>>>>

And dragy runs are typically .2 or .3 faster than the track due to cooler intake temps.
My best is 11.58 dragy and 11.86 track. 11.58 was a cold day but also ran an 11.62 on the way to the track one day.
Nice indeed ,, my car for what ever reason is a dog :(

LOL!

Eventually I will be moving to an ECU tune, but it will likely be next summer. I was planning on BTR this summer, but they pulled the plug.

At this point since I will be installing WMI, I will be keeping my JB4 and stack it with the ECU tune eventually. I will use the JB4 to run the WMI, Data log and fine tune things.

The JB4 can be very beneficial even if you have an ECU tune.

Tonka maybe you should get a JB4 and stack it with the Tork tune.....That would be a bad ass combo.

You should ask John from Tork to install a BMS meth kit on his shop car and stack it with a JB4. BMS meth kits are bad ass dude and go with the Stinger like peanut butter and jelly.

He is putting wmi on his shop car and a customers car now but not using a jb4.
I may try an air/water ic when they come out but no wmi for me.

Not sure if they will ever come out with a air/water intercooler for our cars unless you get one custom made.

LOL I don't think John would let any of his customer's use a JB4. He would probably make them choose one or the other.

If you get WMI then you would have to change your signature lol.

I am still waiting on Lap 3 to release their big turbo kit and ecu tune. Looks like it they will never release it and when they do they are going to charge Lamborghini prices for the kit.

Hey look an air to water intercooler for the Stinger....stinger air to water ic.webp

Hey be ready to spread your butt cheeks open for that intercooler lol......

If there development/prices are anything like Lap 3, I will close to retirement by the time it comes out.

Angel ,, with the JB4 included what preparations did you do to get in the 11s ,, as that is indeed a great time ,, perhaps I might need to get a JB4 later and do you still have your secondary Cats removed ,, with no over spooling and was it off pump gas ???

The only mods I had when I hit 11.9 were JB4, SSR downpies, Agency power intakes and SSR Muffler deletes.

Yes I still have my secondary cats removed, which were replaced by the SSR secondary downpipes/midpipes. I have never had any overboost issues, I am not sure I have heard of anyone having issues with secondary downpipes. Are you having issues with your downpipes?

As far as preparation for my run, I removed my spare tire, lowered my psi on my tires, used launch control, blended 93 octane with E85 and created and E30 blend. I used Map 5 on my run.

Go to this thread I a posted a lot info there. If you have have questions post them there as well. I have the 1/4 mile run video there as well. his thread is all about how to improve your 1/4 mile time.

Thanks Angel , perfect write up with great information for the Track ,, I will run 2 pulls on the Dyno this coming Sunday to see if i can grab a few more ponies that is ,unless they change it up LOL

Tonkabob ,, what is possible with my set up on pump gas, plus Stage 1 instead of my piggy back for a 1/4 mile time ?? just asking :)
Mid to high 11.9s. I ran 12.44 on stage 1 with just a catback.
Angels 11.97 on his mods is an out lier. Others have the same setup as Angel plus wmi and can't catch him. He does some dragon ballz rituals or something that gives him more speed.

Thanks Tonkabob , I will hopefully get a few Dyno pulls this coming Sunday and see if any gain s where made and I will run it with 98 to 101 octane:) TBH not expecting much but more than 345 :)as last time I got 320 and 337 whp

His 11.9 run was due to time in the hyperbolic time chamber.

I've talked with John about stacking his ECU tune with my JB4. Patiently waiting for its release so I can send my ECU off and be one of the few RWD cars with it.

Lol hahahahaha hyperbolic chamber is the way to go.

I would like to hear what John response is to stacking his tune with the JB4. I don’t want to predict what his answer will be, but not sure he will be in agreement with that to say the least.

That is a great question for him thou, hope you get an answer with an explanation.

I’ve spoke with him about it, obviously he can take no responsibility to any adjustments made with the JB4. But, it’s a good way to log, control the WMI, boost by gear via the app. It’s just another tool in the arsenal imo. Get the best of both worlds, a good ECU tune and the ability to constantly track/log everything.

Keep the 2000 in an interest bearing account. Drive the car for 6 months so you know first hand how the car performs, for how you like to drive. Read up on what other people have done to their cars, why they did it, what equipment they used, and how they liked the results.

Then decide for yourself what areas you think can be improved though modifications.

6 months later he starts a thread " I have $2016.54 to put into a stinger" lol.
