I never thought I would say this but I wish I was part of our 51st state. Overall, from everything I am reading, the Stinger model up there has some nicer features (360 camera, etc.) then what we got in the US and the pricing is better, I think.

Wow, I wish I was a canadian..

And for all you political junkies.. They have gov run healthcare too.. what else could you ask for!!!
(don't need hate mail, please.. just joking around...)

Yes, we do have it good up here in Canada! And the Stinger comes nicely equipped here with all the bells and whistles! Proud to be a Canuck

One more difference. Your rear view mirror (Canada) illuminates the garage door buttons. See pic.

The US model is unlit so you are feeling for button 1 (gate) and button 2 (garage). Again. First world problems but I can’t believe it’s more cost effective for Kia to make so many little tweaks to a low volume worldwide car. Like accent lighting absent in Middle East and Australia. Just crazy to have so many small customizations per market.

I've never been more jealous of you folks :) As you say.. first world problems.. :)

Sadly the Limited (or GT2 as the US has it branded) is now very hard to come by right now...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Loving my limited up here but wish the damn snow would go away. From what I can tell the limited is fully equipped and based on currency conversion it is also less expensive- not sure what kia’s marketing strategy is...

Grass is greener...blah blah blah... :p

They do tend to have a lot more winter, though. I'm not jealous about that.
Parts of Canada have nasty Winters , here in Vancouver we actually can grow Palm Trees !!:thumbup:.................and our Prime Minister just corrected a women for using the term "mankind" , he said we use the term "peoplekind" because its more inclusive and gender neutral , yes he can speak in full sentences , but whats contained in those sentences is self promoting palp !!:thumbdown::thumbdown::mad::mad::mad:

To be serious for a moment, though...Canada is a much smaller market than the US so Kia likely determined that to sell the Stinger there, they had to include some different features and offer more perceived value.

It's no accident that different markets have different features. Small cultural or regional differences affect what people buy, what features they find attractive, and what they will pay. Kia and other manufacturers spend a lot of money researching all of this before they release a new model.

Yes but then we pay for it elsewhere with no financing subsidy and only 5 year warranty!

The explanation I got from the owner of my dealership was that Kia Canada wanted to take a high ground position in launching the Stinger here , they decided to only offer AWD GT's in 2 trim levels , make only 200 available on a pre order basis . They were targettting the German benchmarks and wanted to offer outstanding value . Personally I think they underpriced it by 2500-5000 . For MY 2019 they are going to raise the availablility to 350 units and include a 4 cyl variant .

Or wish to be swiss, as we can only get one single model and it has everything in, that Kia offers. Because in Canada, you also have to wear red, be a lumberjack for hobby and cuddle at least one moose per week. Also, we have the same flag colors.

We also get free moose riding lessons when we turn 13.

Yes, in my interminable waiting for my car to come in, I've been surfing the videos. It is amazing the things that other markets are getting with the GT. One Dutch review mentioned heated rear seats which I haven't heard before. Others like Canada get wireless charging (which makes no sense if you have to have your cell fone plugged to use the other features), covered cup holder (no big deal - you can't use them if they are not open) and a few other things I forget.

Canada has it SO much better. Better Stinger, better healthcare, country led by an actual adult who can form a complete sentence....

Enjoy it all; y'all are lucky!
Your political comment, while maybe entertaining to half of us, looks eerily similar to this one:

*Sigh*

Yes....yes it does. Everything from its healthcare to its leader (especially the fact it actually HAS a leader, unlike the US, currently...).

Canadians are so lucky.

Again, "There's technically no RULE in place as we haven't had any reason to set one - yet - but let's PLEASE keep politics to the topic of automobiles. I really don't want to start getting into conversations that are going to get nasty involving people's political affiliations, favorites, etcetera. Please."

By stating your position that the elected President of the United States of America is:

1. Not an actual adult
2. Cannot form a complete sentence

...you have affectively offended about half the people here. I will not allow it. I will not allow it towards Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama - or any other political figure. There are plenty of other websites you can discuss politics at - and criticize all you want. This is supposed to be a relaxing environment where we don't have one another at odds because of political opinions or affiliations. Again, PLEASE keep the political comments related to the automotive industry...
