How to launch on boost

Some bright, engineering type needs to design some kind of switch that you can install and remove but leaves the driver with an easily reachable button/switch.
I have a simple mechanical design in mind but if it doesn't perform there is no reason.

We know it performs when disconnected. This looks to be the only way currently we can do big smokey burnouts with no nannies kicking in. You're the first to say there's throttle cut until 20mph but you're also basically the only person running a Tork tune. Not implying it's related, just saying it might not be a straight apple to apple comparison

Tonka is also the only one that has before and after logs with strip times to know what his car is actually doing.

To know for sure if the full plug removal is better / different than Tonka's solution someone needs to do before and after logs of their own.

I can try it unplugged. I'm not trying to burn out im trying launch faster. We know the ecu always takes its time opening the throttle so this is not a big surprise.

I logged and dragied it. Had a couple decent 60 foots 1.87 but also some 2.0s but the 0-60 was always way off.

Fastest 60' is the Holy Grail!

How to launch on Boost from a roll. I cant seem to build boost on a roll, it keeps cutting off the power whenever I use the foot break to break-boost. By removing the e-break Fuse, would that help? and would that mean I should not use the foot break and use the e-break on a roll?

Many thanks.

There seems to be a function of the stock ECU where it reads if the brake pedal is pressed, and limits boost if it is - @Terry@BMS has all but confirmed this.

I'm not sure why you think playing with the e-brake fuse would help when the behaviour you're seeing is a function of using the brake pedal.

I was hoping for a solution, I thought it could maybe revolve around the break. Guess not. Thank you.

As I noted, @Terry@BMS has a potential solution - at this stage, it involves cutting a wire that goes into the ECU (you'd be able to splice it back in later If required), later hopefully it will be less "permanent".

You could probably do it by using one of the methods of disabling the actual brake switch. As others mentioned, Terry is working on an option to temporarily disable the switch using the JB4 itself, or by using the magnet trick Tonkabob posted in another thread.

At least those options only temporarily disable the brake switch so you can still use reverse, etc. unlike pulling the brake fuse itself.

Where is the AWD fuse that I need to pull for burnouts?

Don’t pull the fuse, it causes too many bad side effects. Use Terry’s new “Burn our switch” or try Tonkas magnet trick above so you can easily go back to normal settings.

Wait, This could be bad advice. These are 2 separate items.
AWD fuse turns AWD into RWD
Burn out switch, etc. allows you to build boost doing a brake stand.

If you want to do burnouts in your AWD I would indeed recommend pulling the AWD fuse. The fuse is in the fuse box under the hood. It's marked AWD

Yes they are two separate items and I thought he was referring to pulling the brake fuse to do burnouts, but you do not need to pull the AWD fuse to spin your tires even with AWD.;)
@kato_the_kia_stinger on Instagram: “WAIT FOR IT. Can’t believe I’m spinning in AWD! Yay @kato_the_kia_stinger #awd #stock #nolaunchcontrol #launchcontrol #breakboost #boost…”
Brake boosting with the “burn out switch” can easily spin all 4 tires.

Ouch that has got to be hard on the drivetrain  I'll tend to avoid AWD burnouts personally  It's got to look and feel cool as he!! though.

Edit: I just watched the linked vid. I wouldn't call that a "Burnout" but a launch.

yea, I did spin all four in the rain.

Personally am at over 30 launches with this trick.. I did not set the record with it though, you would need better tires and more faith in your drivetrain to set a better time using this as the loss of traction is too severe..
