I have a 2019 Kia Stinger Black/Black. Switched the badges on the outside with the OEM Korean versions.

It seems like that many times I am out and about people come up and compliment the car. Mostly geeky car enthusiasts (not women... sigh). I knew the car was receiving a lot of praise, did not think people would go crazy about in public like if it were a ultra luxury/sports car.

Any similar experiences with other owners?

All the time, especially when cleaned up at the petrol station or on my driveway. It's a nice feeling, and makes the car feel more exclusive on roads full of crossovers, Corollas and Civics. What's even better is we didn't have to pay $70K+ for the sexy looks and performance.

Rarely. Averaged over the last thirteen months, less than one compliment per month. If you add in the people who stare at the car, several a month.

Hahaha, yes lots of stares too. Some at red lights won't make eye contact but just look at the wheels. Maybe they're wondering what the hell brand of car it is. I had one guy in a TLX reverse back a bit at a red just to give me a thumbs up.

I get at least 2 "OMG WHAT IS THAT!?! a week!

Lots, some guy in a ram cut another guy off just to give me a thumbs up.

About one every other day. This past weekend I was at an Easter event where I was in charge of putting out eggs for each group of parent's kids that came through. I had my car parked near me in case it rained I could just get in it.

I was surprised how many people went over to look at it both kids and adults. On Easter Sunday they were evening taking pictures of their families with my car in the background.

I get asked all the time what kind of car it is? I have the Korean badges.

Definitely get a lot of stares. Just the other day driving on the I-90 Highway in Chicago. A new Jaguar F-Type caught up to me at like 100 mph rolled his window down to ask me what car it was. I slowed down to like 50 mph so he could hear me. When I said a Kia his face expression was priceless lol.

About twice a week. Also lots of stares and an occasional photo.

average 1 a week. People that know about the car really want to talk about it for a while.

I have been followed down my very long driveway by someone wanting to ask about it and see it. Freaked me out a bit, but was all good in the end.

Pretty much daily

I've had my Korean dry cleaner and his wife both come outside, look at the car and literally sit in mine! He knew a lot about the car and was very proud of it being Korean. I still paid full price for my dry cleaning though....

Weird. Ill buck the trend. Had mine just over 6 months put just over 6000 mi on it so I'm out driving it. Not a single comment...

Guess I had a civic try to race me on the hwy the other day. Other than that peeps just seem to look at it like another car??

Probably just that MN 'nice' holding people back Bigjohn :)

Many compliments, but somehow it all circles back to... "It's still a KIA".

Most really like the color (Ceramic). A few of my colleagues, are impressed with the interior (the fit, lines, space overall, and it's functional).

I’m continually surprised by how many people approach me to talk to me about the Stinger, often to ask what it is. I get into more conversations about the Stinger than I did when summer driving my old 928. I wasn’t expecting that.

Had an old lady approach me at the grocery store. She had to be over 80 years old. She asked, "What color is that red called on your car"? Told her it was Hichroma ... she smiled and walked away, lol!!! That was a first!:D
