How Often Do You Receive Compliments?

quite often... about a week ago I made stops at 3 stores, and at all 3, people commented on the car as I was exiting the car. A few days later got 3 comments from kids ranging from pre-school through high school.

Kia has made some great strides under the direction of Peter Schreyer over the last decade. Cannot wait to see what the second generation looks like!

I have had people ask if it as Maserati or Porsche. It is crazy how much value the Kia Stinger brings to the table!

Nice to see other people are getting similar reactions!

I believe reactions to the car are very dependent on the economy and culture of the area. Some places that would be very rude and other quite neighborly? Mine gets admiring looks, thumbs up, etc., every time I go anywhere, (in deep south Texas). At least once a week someone comes over and starts an extended conversation about it that will go over 15 minutes. Not just "Is that a sports car?", "How fast does it go?", "That a V-8?", "Kia?? Really! didn't know they made anything like that." - but most get into "How big are those brakes? I've never seen disc brakes that big." "Does it have a turbo?", "Wow, a twin turbo!", "How has the dealer customer service been?", etc. It's really part of the fun of owning one.

I got a Mustang when they came out in '64 and two years later traded it for a Corvette Sting Ray convertible. The Corvette had more power and better handling, but could only have one passenger. The Stinger is a wonderful blend of the two and with 21st century technology.

Almost every day! Whats even more impressive is I live in an area that Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and McLaren's are a dime a dozen, but I still get more attention in my Kia! I get tons of admirers and many people taking pictures.:D

I admit I initially I didnt get much love from the Audi/BMW/Benz car snobs, but the Stinger definitely put Kia on the map and changed peoples minds. Now they actually start conversations and ask alot of specific questions. I even know multiple people that have traded in their S5, M5 & AMG for a Stinger!

Who would have thought Kia would have come so far so quickly, and cant wait to see what they come up with next.

Not a single time in 3 months. Probably because my area in SLC has a ton of high end cars on the road.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I receive comments quite frequently, usually asking what kind of car it is.
Mine is de-badged and replaced with the "E" everywhere.
They are very surprised when I tell them it's a Kia.

Like i said before i get much more stares and neck brakes when i drive my stinger than when i drive my porsche 981. Probably when they see me in the porsche they are thinking another rich a**hole in his 911 , 911 and 981 are a dime a dozen where i live, but when they see me driving my stinger they say wow stunning design, what car is that? It's a kia! i luv it, i see me driving one, Icould afford driving one.

Just got mine Friday and already got 4 comments from different parents at my toddler’s school and 2 neighbors. Do my compliments when I walk up to it count??

No. Must be third party. :p I got complimented numerous times by neighbors, family and friends in that first month. Naturally. The one that I appreciated the most was, "You deserve it!" Wow, that comes from somewhere that good will is planted and nourished over the years. :D

Once or twice every time I drive it. A surprising number of people stop at my house to admire it and want to talk about it.

I just did, not forty-five minutes ago. I was gassing up at Costco and I saw the retired guy in front of me grinning, watching me; I must have been obvious, spraying a streak of bird poop on the front passenger window and wiping it off with a microfiber (I missed the big splotch on the rocker panel until I came out of the store, heh).

He said, "I bet you are having a lot of fun with this car."

I said I haven't had a whole year of more fun with a material object in my life; and that it's my first new car.

"What is it, a Lexus or something?"

I enjoyed explaining the "K" skin on the KIA badge: "I have it so that people will ask about the car, like you just did. When the novelty wears off I'll take the skin off and show KIA again."

He said that he thought the novelty wearing off might take a while. He was clearly impressed by the Stinger's appearance and my enthusiasm for it.

There's a Camaro guy who several times now has walked up to my car at a local car show and just stared at it.

Then walks away.

I rebadged my car and put a ground effect package, front air dam, side canards, rear spoiler, diffuser and rear canards. The car looks aggressive and it seems that nobody knows what it is because it doesn't say Kia on it anywhere. People usually are very surprised when I tell them it's a kia. I live in a small town and as far as I know, it's the only one around here.IMG_0774.webpIMG_0773.webp IMG_0775.webpIMG_0776.webp

Had an old lady approach me at the grocery store. She had to be over 80 years old. She asked, "What color is that red called on your car"? Told her it was Hichroma ... she smiled and walked away, lol!!! That was a first!:D

Interestingly enough I mostly get verbal compliments by older women. Must be the color. Other than that people staring is a common occurrence. It definitely attracts attention.

Hi Rob. Where is this "small town"? If you put that in your location we will know going forward.

Welcome to the forum, since this is your first post (even though you've been on here longer than I have! :P).

I'm in Atlanta, I work in an area that is saturated with sports car, exotics. It's actually rare to see a "crappy" car where I work.

I've had owners of some pretty amazing cars give me thumbs up, talk to me at lunch, etc.

All in, I've had some "sporty" cars. The Stinger is by far the most attention grabbing.

In Perth all we seem to get is snide remarks and disdainful looks. The Kia brand is snubbed a bit on this side of Australia . Happened to me when a fairly nice Holden SS sidled up to me on the freeway. I nodded at the guy in showing appreciation that his car looked good and he gave me the bird back ! He got jammed in traffic later, serves him right lol.

Lol. Wow, such Kia hate. I can't really identify with that kind of response. And the most I've heard in that regard was my SCCA friend after I showed him my car: "And, it's a Kia!" he said with a grin. He was impressed by the style and the Brembo brakes prominently displayed. "I loved the Brembos on my race cars," he said. But then shortly after that he sold his Ferrari and bought a used $190K Porsche for half that. I doubt that he would even consider a Stinger because "it's a Kia". He's never dissed my ride, though. And a couple weeks ago he asked me how I am liking my buggy. And when I said I am totally happy, satisfied and having a blast, he said "Good!" and looked genuinely pleased for me.
