I went Saturday and got a GT2 AWD ordered with 18" wheels. The dealer said a little over 3000 Stingers have been shipped here to the states and only a handful of them have the 18" wheels and they were all red ones. I'm on the waiting list for when they ship some GT2's in Silky Silver with 18" wheels. Good thing I'm patient.

Did they give you an ETA on when it might arrive? I wish I had your patience. :p

They couldn't tell me. It's all up to the Korean assembly team. I can always pray that the next color off the line is Silky Silver. But there are 5 other colors, besides red, to choose from so I guess I have a 20% chance that the next color to come off the line with 18" wheels is Silky Silver. If it comes off with Ceramic Gray that is my 2nd choice and I'll be getting that color instead. So I guess I have a 40% chance of getting one soon if you take into account my 2nd choice. :D:p;)

Well, it's always good to have a plan b - and in your case that's color... Good. I'm sure you'll be happy either way. Now let's hope it gets here soon...

Whenever that is... I'll post picture as I take delivery.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
It seems all current stinger in production is for the international market. I ordered mine the other day here in Korea and there's only a few cars left. a red, a white, dark grey, and the dark blue I ordered. dealer said if I wanted the exact color and options combination other than whats available, it's going to be a few weeks wait.

Kia predicted to sell 2000 stingers in Korea this year and the latest number I read back in october said they already sold about 5000 stingers in Korea alone and sale is constant at about 750 stingers a month.

I was going to test drive the Stinger on Sunday, but then my wife said that I would never own a sports car unless we got divorced... so I had to cancel my appointment. Oh well. I am still excited for those who did purchase one!

Wow. Nice... So they've beat their target SO FAR this year by 3000 Stingers... And the year isn't over yet. Very impressive. I wonder how many they'll sell in the U.S., Canada, and elsewhere...

What is it about sports cars that your wife doesn't like? Did you TELL her it's a sports car? I mean - does it necessarily need to be a sports car as far as she's concerned?

Explain to her what a sports car actually is then explain what a grand tourer is. She'll either have to admit it's fine or specify her personal version of what "sports car" means.

To her, if it's fast and looks fast, then it's a sports car. Lol.

She doesn't care or see the need for a car to go faster than the average Civic or Accord.

She went with me and our kid to look at the Stinger when it was only for display a few months back.

It's just that she wants an SUV to add to our Civic. She also wants other life goals; going back to school, getting a house, and traveling

Better yet , take her to the dealer and show her the car ............................she'll get it

You could always get the 2.0T... That's not "fast". Having a good, safe, reliable car that doesn't cost a fortune sounds like a good part of life goals to me.

ALL those things are way more important than a Stinger .......................( shame on you ! ;) ) a Stinger or something else will be available when you get this list checked off ! Happy Wife = Happy Life !.........................thats why I'm so miserable !!! bawaaaaaaaa

I told my wife it's a "family" car - see four-doors?
Aimed to carry kids - see the Isofix points for children seats?
It has a longer wheelbase than a Sonata or a Cadenza, I had to present it's so comfy in sitting in the back - more on that later.
Practical like an SUV due to folding rear seats.
Built to rival the Germans = safer in case of accidents.

(failed) to get the 3.3TT - couldn't justify the need of 365hp to bring our groceries from the supermarket home, less than a kilometer away.
(failed) to get the dream edition for the limited slip diff - was going with snow in winter but there's hardly any snow on the street here in Seoul.

Yeah, some worked, some didn't - so it's a 2.0T Stinger for me. Still consider a success right?

Heck yeah, the 2.0t is still a great engine and it'll be a fun ride. Beats any SUV.

Yes! Practical like an SUV because of the hatch also. And a definite success! The 2.0 is also a great car. You're most likely never going to be racing anyway so it's not like you lost much with the 2.0. Plus you'll be getting better fuel mileage.

Make it work both ways. Get her a minivan, and tell her she's not allowed to have a sports utility vehicle.

HAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yes! Minivan for the misses! If a 'sports' car makes you too young or attractive to other women (really?!) or whatever her crazy issue is with sports cars, a 'sport' utility vehicle is the same for her.
