I'm looking at the 2.0. So it's as bare bones as you can get. So now I'm doing style vs. options calculus. 32k buys so much more car (sans performance) elsewhere.

...perhaps in some ways... But cars like the Accord and Camry aren't going to feel ANYTHING like the Stinger. Different planet.32k buys so much more car
But a fair chunk of what we're paying for is the performance? Even the 2.0t model is pretty quick and people have said handles great due to the lower weight.
I am unsure of purchasing it since I'm reading that Kia dealerships are horrible. I'm currently working with an elderly lady, and I will test her to see how she treats me. I can spot inconsistency and liars pretty well.
Other cars that are within the Kia Stinger's price range are (in no order):
1). VW Arteon - love the exterior/interior design, but it is slow (mid 5 second to 60mph).
2). Buick Regal GS - love the front sport seats and interior design.
3). Dodge Charger R/T 392 - very comfortable seats, it is the quickest in my list, but feels like a land yacht.
so you're 'out' because of the shifter.I just can’t get past this shifter on all models outside of the GT2. It looks so bad IMO. Maybe it won’t be so bad in person.

Well, between the 80’s style shifter and lack of ventilated seats — it makes only the GT2 the trim I’m interested in. Which is annoying because I really feel the 2.0t (and MPG) make better sense for my needs. But there are just too many compromises (even the wheels). I don’t know if I should wait for a “special edition” 2.0T with GT LINE trim....you know, just like they’ve displayed at dealerships across the the country!so you're 'out' because of the shifter.

That's where you go german cars etc with their huge option list. You can take the lowest model and gear up your comforts. of course you pay premium for that.

Room aside though, can you actually make a C-300 interior as nice as an S-Class? Or a 3-series as nice as a 7-series? .
As for the colors, ok so it seems (miraculously) that one of the two colors they don't want to offer at all here is the one they demoed across most of America. However, if it's money, then they already showed that they can offer it with an up charge. I think they do this for Australia. It looks like it's $500-600 extra for the Deep Chroma Blue.
