So I washed my car last night, it lives undercover all night, so going to work this morning @ 6am, it’s still dark here as it’s the middle of winter.
Anyway the forecast was for early chance of showers, turned the corner out of my street & a couple of “spots” hit my windscreen.
I get to work & I’m also lucky enough to have a parking bay in our basement, get out of the car & go to walk up to my office & to my horror I see this.....:eek::eek::eek:

I then realise I drove under a tree at the corner of my tree & this is bat shit, I run upstairs grab a pile of clean soft rags from our workshop, soak one in water then I washed it all off then dried with the others.

Lucky cows don't fly!

No swirls it’s already coated.

Well, that was a " Shitty " start to the day, glad you noticed and fixed her up

Most bats in Australia are fruit-eating bats (aka flying foxes), and their shit is VERY acidic. It can eat into clear-coat and etch it quite badly.

You did well washing it off quickly!

Was “not happy Jan” considering I was at work, by then 6:30am, no proper cleaning equipment & I just wanted to get it off ASAP.

The Protektiv Coating is guaranteed against the acidic nature of bird & especially bat crap.

Bet you weren't. It was good you had some cloths etc to get it off, if it was my workplace I wouldn't be able to do anything until break time.
I wouldn't be able to say " sorry patients, you'll have to wait, Iv'e got to clean bat shit off my car "

Always a good idea to carry a cleaning kit in the boot, secured by cargo net.

That's a good idea ! Did you get a cargo net with your car ? when we opened the boot when we arrived home, my son asks " what's in that small bag ? " we opened it up and it was a cargo net.

Yes, I believe it's standard issue.

Have you found the battery yet? and where you jump start it if needed.

That's what I use my cargo net for as well , I've got the full gamut there.

On the bat shit subject, I had a magna's paint work completely soiled by that stuff. The buggers use to eat Berry's and fly over my drive way, I only had a single garage for the VL.

So that’s one big bat or you pissed off the entire colony, they didn’t miss you. Either way it’s bat shit crazy  :poop:

We get seagulls here that eat spiny starfish , their internals are so acidic you can see a Gull with a have consumed starfish in their mouth whilst crapping the other half at the same time ......................got a full load across my windshield driving under a street lamp where one was perched ..................it was like cement..............starfish.webp
