You guys don't have " Capped pricing " for Stinger services ?it's $700! Ack!It's a "Service 4", the first one, the expensive one: lots of inspection work and fluid and filter replacements. The Canada schedule says "from $599.95",
Don't know what you mean. You guys don't have " Capped pricing " for Stinger services ?
Capped Pricing means when we take our Stinger's, all new Kia's for their recommended services under warranty we are quoted and pay a certain amount at each service and the amount will not go over that price .Don't know what you mean.
(Btw, I saw a Pearl White - the same one? - on the way get my car; was chatting about the Stinger to the Lyft driver; funny, both times I've been able to point to a White and say, "There's one!")
Just forty minutes ago: a Pearl White, eastbound on 10000 South, c. 500 West. I think it was a Jerry Seiner on a test drive. I got to point it out to the Lyft driver taking me home: I was chatting him up, singing praises of the Stinger, and lo and behold, the Pearl White goes by the opposite way so I can show him one. He was impressed.
(I had to get a Lyft, because my car is in for its 30K miles service, which takes c. 4 to 5 hours. And it's $700! Ack!It's a "Service 4", the first one, the expensive one: lots of inspection work and fluid and filter replacements. The Canada schedule says "from $599.95", so I guess that's about right: I have a printout of the Canada schedule, because I couldn't find one for the US: it's the standard Kia maintenance schedule; only the pricing is different - and being in Kms instead of miles, of course.)
(edit: oh, the guy doing this work is "Steve, the Stinger specialist. He's the one who put your sway bar in." Cool.)
So, every time you take your Stinger in for routine maintenance, the price is the same? Is it a flat amount? (I've had eight service visits; four of them were "Service 1", basically oil and filter and rotating tires and checking brakes for wear; and two "Service 2", one "Service 3" and now the 30K miles "Service 4". Iirc, the Service 2 was under $200 each time; and the Service 3 was over $300.)Capped Pricing means when we take our Stinger's, all new Kia's for their recommended services under warranty we are quoted and pay a certain amount at each service and the amount will not go over that price .

No, not mandatory. Your way is good. If you trust another mechanic who will charge a lot less, go for it. Receipts/verification is all that Kia makes mandatory. I could go to a small shop where I used to have all my work done on my used cars. But I choose to use the Kia service center at the dealership where I bought my Stinger.do you have to perform these at the dealership, or your warranty is voided ? Cause I ain't paying anyone Fkn $200-$700 for any fkn inpsection/services.. My mechanic is my pal and he'll charge me much less and I can get receipts with notes he did it all.
WTF ? I've never went to Hyundai for any regular maintenance for my Santa fe during first 5 years (or ever) and warranty work was always covered.
Is this just people here who are choosing to go to the dealership, like sheep, or is this a mandatory thing for warranty qualification ? ?
I have had a couple of people say you can choose your own mechanic and the warranty is still valid, of course the manual advises " in order to receive warranty service under this warranty you must take your Kia Vehicle, along with this manual to an authorised Kia Dealership in Australia."do you have to perform these at the dealership, or your warranty is voided ? The price does vary, depending on how many Kms and what is needed at the time. I'm sure at one time someone posted the price list in one of the Aussies Threads but I can't remember which one.So, every time you take your Stinger in for routine maintenance, the price is the same?
