11.30am today, hello to the Micro Blue that followed me down Fitzwilliam Rd Toongabbie
Good point, I'm not sure how he got around that? But the GT-Line has a turbo. Do the cops know that?!![]()
In Victoria inexperienced drivers are on P plates for four years. The most over governed, red taped, Nanny state bit of turf in the werelllllld. Down here.
Red P plate first year, Green P second year. Zero alcohol and no points with engine restrictions on what you can drive. No V8s and No turbos.
I'm thinking it must be a 2.0. Because Pathera grey was not available here 3.3?
Just checked with the wife Green P plates 2 years with 3 or 4 demerit points in NSW.In Victoria inexperienced drivers are on P plates for four years.
Ist year Red P plates and can only carry one passenger or family members,
Second to fourth year Green Plates that must be displayed at all the times.
Demerit points for what ?Just checked with the wife Green P plates 2 years with 3 or 4 demerit points in NSW.
Yes mate it means Provisional. Despite what the resident non expert Merlin says, it’s got nothing to do with the amount of km you drive, it’s based on years/age.What's the P for? Provisional?
Yes because it’s not on the banned list if you’d bothered to read my original post. Plenty of turbo engines are legally allowed due to the overall HP of the engine. But the GT-Line has a turbo. Do the cops know that?!![]()
Fair enough. I also looked at that RMS app last night just to check but it doesn’t show engine size. Not Canberra but I was thinking maybe South Coast/Kiama.

It’s 4 for P1 and 6 for P2, 12 for a full licence.Just checked with the wife Green P plates 2 years with 3 or 4 demerit points in NSW.
The amount of points on your licence you can incur before being suspended.Demerit points for what ?
Has anyone seen any Stingers in the wild? Which one of you is the expert here? I "bother" to read all the posts on any thread I'm subscribed to.Yes because it’s not on the banned list if you’d bothered to read my original post. Maybe when you bother to read all the posts, fight the urge to post every little brain fart you have in response to what others have put up and you may find the threads won’t derail as much. Naturally when you post something especially when it’s incorrect people are going to respond which in turn just keeps the thread heading off on the tangent. As for being the expert. On the specific issue of certain models of Stinger being banned for certain types of Australian licence holders (particularly in NSW) which is what sent us down this path following a posted picture of a wild sighting in Sydney, I would suggest that almost 20 years experience in the largest law enforcement agency in the country would make me the subject matter expert. I don’t however claim it on all things Stinger, there’s plenty of others on the forum that would qualify as the expert on other topics based on their background and experience. Which brings us back to why I posted about licence classes etc when someone from your side of the world asked if the P plate shown in that picture meant “Provisional”. It’s also why I corrected what you posted.Has anyone seen any Stingers in the wild? Which one of you is the expert here? I "bother" to read all the posts on any thread I'm subscribed to.
Pardon me for not fighting the urge to post a response to your explanation (up here, a "brain fart" is a lapse of memory, not a propensity to just blather on the Interwebs), but I never was that concerned about threads getting derailed.Maybe when you bother to read all the posts, fight the urge to post every little brain fart you have in response to what others have put up and you may find the threads won’t derail as much.
