Has anyone had the turbo oil feed pipe replaced under recall?

@D.J.
Fortunately theres a dealership 30 mins away thats a million times better! I couldnt say if thats the exact part I just recall the service manager mentioning it was for one specific tiny ass bolt dealing with the coolant line or something.

i'm going to edit my post ...

noticed after a couple days that one of the caps was missing from the base of one of the wiper arms. ordered and replaced for $9-ish ... not worth my time or gas driving to dealer, even if they offered to replace it for free.

also, two deep chips on the driver side fender (edge of hood) again, not worth pursuing ... i have a couple other paint chips i need to fix and i'll just fix those at the same time.
Yeah, I found a few light scuffs along the driver side also numerous greasy hand prints all over the roof of the car and along the fender edge. I had a chip on the fender edge on the driver side. It’s almost like they don’t use any type of vehicle protection. I’m assuming that’s why they offered to wash the vehicle afterwards, but I declined that as well. None of it was worth pursuing. I buffed out the scuffs, filled the chip and washed the car myself. Again, I haaaaaate people touching my car. That’s the only reason why it went to the dealer was because of the recall. And fortunately, they did great mechanic work. Kia of Round Rock

That's the one, that is a special tool created by Kia to allow this recall to be performed without removing the engine from the car.

Just dropped off my car at a dealership in Vegas this morning. They said they would have to drop the engine and it might take a few days. Gave me a rental car. However, I completely forgot to remove the JB4 (or any of my mods for that matter). Kinda worried about those flimsy positap wires, etc. and whether the technicians will put things back how they found it.

There is no need to drop the engine, if the dealer uses the special tool supplied by Kia. Mine was done in less than a day, and so far no issues.

The tool, shown here being used with a ⅜” drive ratchet to remove (and replace) the two(2) eye bolts from the turbocharger water pipe
(Q).
DO NOT reuse copper washer.

The tool is a very simple, very low profile hex key

I understand that, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do with that information. It's the Kia dealership, they're going to do whatever their service manual tells them to.

I wouldn't count on it, after I got back my GT from the service center for the recall (Legit took over 2 weeks) I had a feeling I should check under the hood to see how my aftermarket intakes looked and well... The technicians when doing their work dislodged both cone filters from their fittings, so even when the drove it to the pickup area it was sucking in direct air with no filtering

I'm sure that wasn't too bad but I almost drove 30min back home like that. I mean if you have my car for weeks the least you can do is give the slightest shit to let me know about it if you don't want to touch it, since it was plainly obvious.

There is a Kia document that is a step by step instruction on how to perform the recall. Reference to that document is in one of the many threads on the recall on this site. I would suggest searching for it, print it and show it to the dealer. If they dismiss it go to another Kia dealership.

Well, it’s been there for 48 hours now. Worried they might have started it. I’ll give them a call in the morning

Called them just now and he said that they haven’t started it yet, but that the job doesn’t require dropping the engine (though, that’s what they said initially, then gave me a rental car for a week), though he didn’t seem to acknowledge the Kia corp document I brought up, any special tool, etc. Saying it should be done tonight or tomorrow.

As for the mods/intakes/etc he told me the tech said it was no problem and he assured me to pop the hood with them when I pick up the car to make sure everything’s in order. So I’m feeling more confident.

I'm kinda torn on this. I've been lurking for a few months and seen posts of people having issues after the recall while others haven't had any issues. Just recently picked up my stinger. It's due for a oil change soon. I'm contemplating on whether I should have the recall done when I get the oil changed. I will be going to the new lou sah dealership in newnan.

I just had my oil changed in both of our Stingers today. I expected the dealership to bring up the recall on the oil feed pipe. But they didn't say a word. And neither did I.

If so, how did it go? Any issues with dealership providing shoddy work as it relates to this recall? Thanks for sharing
Yes had it replaced.... A few weeks later found my coolant is low. Had smoke coming from engine bay... Though something is burning, guess what they forgot to put claps back on hoses ,
So check all work afterwards

The hose clamps?

Which ones, and how many?

My coolant was low, but no hose clamps were missing. I just discovered today that my windshield washer wasn't working. They forgot to connect one of the hoses. Not as bad as a burning smell or no clamps but still annoying that they can't achieve a minimum level of competence.

Went smooth for me. 2 birds, one stone with me. I had a low oil pressure light pop on Idle 3 days after an oil change for me. After I seen so all the forums calling the oil pressure sensor bad, I had it inspected and they saw a class 2 leak coming from the oil turbo feed line. Since i know oil leaks can cause low oil pressure, i said whatever let’s try it. Boom, oil pressure light gone. Probably doesn’t pertain you but I thought I’d just put that out there. Saved me at least 3k, for now..

What is a class 2 oil leak?

Did you have large puddles of oil?
How actively was it dripping, one drip per second? One drip per minute?

Just trying to understand the severity of the leak.

Had mine done last week (2020). Took them 2 days because they claim the first pipe burst as soon as they started the car. That left me feeling all warm and cuddly. So when I got it back the next day, I visually inspected the engine compartment. Didn't see any signs of oil splash. But did see that the coolant was below the Lower mark. Topped it off when I got home. Oil was fine. Haven't had any issues this far, and Ive gotten it up to xxx mph briefly since as well with NP.
