Has anyone had the turbo oil feed pipe replaced under recall?

I noticed something similar and was wondering if something got reset in the computer when they did the coolant bleed, or if they idled it a long time to test stuff and that messed with the calculations.
They definitely idled it for a long time, to do the air bleed procedure. They may or may not have also reset the computer

so i have the Takeda/AFI cold air intakes... hopefully they dont make a bid deal out of it

Not problem at my local dealer. I just gave them a heads up on where the mounting bolts were located.

Update — Had this recall completed at my Kia dealership on 6/19, everything seemed to be okay when I picked it up. Today (6/21) when I was driving to work, I started to hear the sound of moving/ sloshing water almost every time I accelerated. I texted my service rep and immediately started to search forums for the same issue post recall work. Found a couple of similar situations that indicated air in the coolant system. I dropped the car off at noon today and waited at the dealership for 3 hours while they burped the system. Upon driving home, everything was okay for the first couple of miles before the sound was back. It may be a little less apparent/ loud now, but still there. I have had no issues of overheating yet. While I was in the dealership, one of the technicians mentioned how much of a pain it is to burp the coolant on these cars. I had trepidation about having this recall work done in the first place and now… here we go.

Just picked mine from the dealership after having the recall performed. I set an appointment about 2 weeks ago. They ordered the part when I scheduled the appt. I got a text a week later saying my part for the repair was in stock. I dropped it off at 8am this morning and got a text at 4:30pm saying it was ready for pick up. As far as how the car drives, it’s seems perfectly fine. As far as the condition when I picked it up, that’s another story. There were grease prints all over the fenders, hood and on the roof. I had to buff off 3 scuffs they def weren’t there before. I know my baby! LOL. 2 on the LR door and one on the LF fender. I mean wtf. Like I said before, I haaaaaaaaaate someone else touching my car. I’ll keep everyone updated on how its drives. Fingers crossed.

Parts came in to dealership a few weeks ago and they needed some “special” tool before they could schedule appointment. I had the service completed today. Dropped off @ 7:30am and ready for pick up @ 3:00pm. My Kia Connect App would notify me when car was running, so I figured they were testing as job neared completion. Drive home was without issues; will see how she handles the drive to work tomorrow.

All depends on dealership mine has jb4 full bolt ons , methanol injection they didn't say anything about it, also did my front door handles part of earlier recall.
Wondering if I should take out the JB4 before bringing it in for service?

Put the JB4 back in. Drives just as it did before. Noticed that they did put in a new oil dipstick tube, new upper radiator hose w clamp, and the coolant looks fresh. Also noticed the tech didn’t tighten the bolts for the LH strut brace. Now I’m wondering what else he could have overlooked. Damn I hate people touching my car.

the angst is strong with this one.
same here. it's why Ima procrastinating, my oil feed hose and heat shroud look fine.

Just wanted to give yall an update. Car is running great. No oil or coolant leaks since the recall work was done a week ago. It smelled like coolant for a day or so after but i figured it was residual since the coolant is still full and temps are normal. Oil level is correct. So far so good.

I did the recall and I have noticed that I am getting a sloshing sound from the passenger side when I accelerate from a traffic light. I mainly notice it when the car start stop engine feature is on.

Did you manage to get rid of the sound? My guess is the coolant system has air and needs to be bled.

Given the number of comments about burping the coolant, does anyone have a good writeup of what's needed?

I'm assuming the dealership way is to hook up to a computer that can activate the thermostat/pump (are there any bypass valves as well?), similar to modern ABS systems that want the internal valves activated.

But I'm curious if simply getting the car up to temp and maybe raising one or more sides onto jack stands is sufficient, or if just a bit of spirited driving is sufficient to push the air through.

There is a DIY guide thread.

Edit: The dealership connects the KDS tool which will open up certain valves or something similar. On Reddit (keep in mind this is reddit), some mechanics say after 2-3 Heat/Cool cycles the bubbles will work out over time. My coolant reservoir was low so this might be the reason why.

Update: After topping up the coolant reservoir and Running my Heater on HI then LOW (several times). Happy to say the slooshing sound has disappeared for me.

Top quality Kia service experience - some additional steps left for the owner to complete.

Why should any owner have to "top up fluids" immediately after a "service"

Yeah I hear you.
It was their first time doing it so I'll give them some slack, but also because it was faster/cheaper for me to just run the heater and top up the coolant than going back during work hours. Also have to keep in mind that most people wouldn't notice. I know for sure my father wouldn't notice.

The good news is the items they did replace have no leaks and the coolant wasn't empty only on the low side.

Some might notice the low coolant, especially once it became a problem and started drawing in air from the overflow reservoir overnight when the car cools down.

Had mine done on my 2020 this week. Dropped it off 730am Tuesday and didn't get it back until 830am Thursday. I could have had it back Wednesday noon but they were arguing with me about the headlight desiccant tsb. Because they disconnected the battery to do the recall it cleared the code so now I hafta go BACK when it pops back up or just fund and fix myself.

Stealership didn't give me flak about my aftermarket parts surprisingly. I had literally had tires put on the day before and they tried to tell me my tread was getting close to 6/32 and that I should get my tires done, mind you the tires were 24 hours on the car brand new from dtc, and they suggested strongly a tune up of plugs and wires to the tune of $1700. Think they were mad that I regularly check my fluids, brakes, had recently changed both intake filters(to my afe kit), and my cabin filter due to a smell. They had nothing they could ping me on. I'll swap my plugs for denso's in the winter likely just on maintenance.

Still. Past 24 hours I've put about 50 miles on the ole girl and had zero issues. I did check the oil fill and coolant level after getting home and letting it sit in my garage to cool. Oil was exactly to the F line but not above and the coolant reservoir is above full but not to the brim. Going to let it ride for a week and if it doesn't drop due to any potential air I'll suction the excess out. Will admit I haven't heard any sloshing, but I also am waiting on my tips for exhaust and drone could be masking.

Boarder line incompetence... Why wouldn't they check the codes BEFORE disconnecting the battery..

I would have liked to have that talk with the service manager & have him measure the tread depth right in front of me, and question what kind of scamership are they running!

What is dtc?

and they suggested strongly a tune up of plugs and wires to the tune of $1700.
Not sure if that's a typo or if that conversation actually happened. Wires? Hilarious

Yea, I lambasted the manager over it considering he also has a stinger and knows about the TSB, even told me he had it done, but Kia won't pay them unless it's active which was their hangup. I get the part of " we aren't giving out free labor" on their side but also, it was on when I dropped it off and your rep saw it and notated it, yet you unhooked battery before checking codes.

I wasn't going to even argue I just wanted out of there. Sad part is they were actually decent about me having aftermarket parts and, though they took a little longer to do the recall than quoted, they did give me a rental. It was just the argument with the headlight tsb that drug it out and pissed me off. I had told them about it when I scheduled my recall so they had the parts. Just effing annoying.

Dtc=discount tire co

And no that's the actual quote on the suggested bill. Plugs, wires, and a "tune up." Honestly they were reaching trying to get money because they saw everything else was done and they just wanted money because all they got was a recall claim.
