Has anyone had the turbo oil feed pipe replaced under recall?

Coolant was just below the L when I thought to check it a week after I had the recall done. No issues with temperature so hopefully they didn't top it up quite enough.

Hey there, so I just had it done on mine. The bulletin provides three hours for them to accomplish this. Don’t count on that. I dropped mine off first thing in the morning and didn’t get it back to the next day.. From what I see it’s all good. The only thing I questioned was they were not going to change the oil. I insisted they do that. I just found it kind of weird a dealer would not do that. You opened up the oil system, why wouldn’t you? However, they did do a complete flush on the cooling system because they have to dump that to get to their part. Or so I was told hope this helps.

They didn't do an oil change, because it's not part of the recall. They just replaced the oil that was lost while changing the oil feed pipe. It is completely normal to not perform a free an oil + filter change during this procedure .

Did they offer you.the oil change for free?

They also didn't flush anything, they just refilled the coolant that they had to drain.
Looks like it is slightly more than half the coolant was drained, and replaced. No flushing.

Just a sidenote to that, my car was the second recall that they had done.

I hate to say it, but you got lied to.

It's very plainly written in the recall procedure, how much oil they are given with the recall kit, and how much coolant they are provided with, with the recall kit.

It's listed on the last page of the recall procedure.

I think only one side is close enough to the exhaust to melt?

Look closely at item #4 (recall part left side) vs #15 - the right side oil feed pipe.

The right side doesn't need a flex portion.

Turbo Oil Feed Tube Fail

Bought my 3.3 V6 Stinger in 2018 when it first launched in my country. Currently 140K KM mileage had a funny burning oil smell at first then a lot of smoking coming out from the engine. Just checked today it was the turbocharged oil feed tube pipe. Anyone experienced this? Where can I find this...

Said I wasn’t gonna do it until I absolutely have to. But I spoke w the service advisor @ KIA of Round Rock, and feel confident they can handle it. He says they’re limited to 2 Stingers a day, on oil line recalls. And also says if I drop it off at 8am, he’ll have it ready by mid-afternoon. Part was ordered and appointment is set for 24JUN24. Fingers crossed.

Took my wife's Stinger in last Friday at 8 am. Called them at 4 pm, not going to be done. Was told to come in for a loner over the weekend. We are 5 minutes away. Gave me a Forte GT. Got a call at 2 pm yesterday saying it was ready to go. Was getting a little nervous about why it was taking so long. Car was sitting outside so I looked it over really good, the outside of car was still perfect. Went inside to do paper work and turn in courtesy car. Service manager told about repair and said we can open the hood before leaving. Opened the hood, he pointed out how tight it is where the pipe is routed. I noticed the radiator hose was new, everything else looked factory fresh. Could not ask for more professional work. Very pleased.

Why leave it in especially for the recall? With all the parts they have to remove it seems risky to leave plug and play devices in the vicinity.

I took mine in on a Tuesday morning, and didn't get it back until Thursday afternoon. I don't know if it was their first time doing the recall or not, but it definitely wasn't just a few hours so plan ahead for that. Everything seems to be fine since I got the car back though.

One oddity that seems to have went away...the first couple times I drove it after I picked it back up from having the recall done, by fuel mileage went down by quite a bit, according to the display when you shut the car off. I got 13 mpg in town the first drive, and 20 mpg on the highway the second drive, and I normally get closer to 20 in town and 26-27 on the highway driving in sport mode. After those first two trips though, my mileage is back where it used to be, again according to the display only, I haven't verified by checking miles against fuel used. Not sure if something had to reset after the recall or not, the car didn't run any differently when the fuel mileage dropped either, it just got worse fuel mileage for the first 30 or so miles after the recall.

I noticed something similar and was wondering if something got reset in the computer when they did the coolant bleed, or if they idled it a long time to test stuff and that messed with the calculations.
