H&R RWD specific lowering springs

My H&R Springs are installed and the overall stance is much improved. What I didn't expect is how much better the car feels, more planted but more compliant at the same time. Small bumps seem to be absorbed more efficiently and their feels like there is less body roll.

Can you post some pics of your car with the H&R Springs?

I remember some years ago, I went into a VW tuner shop to have springs and shocks installed on my 97 Passat. The shop suggested a combo of H&R Springs and Bilstein shocks for a modest drop, when I went to pick up the car, it had a slammed look, I wasn't very happy. Then I drove it. The handling was phenomenal! I loved driving that car, much like the '04 525 with Sport package that had a "factory" slammed look, not tucked like the Passat but with about an inch of gap between the wheel and fender. The negative to this look was that the Passat bottomed out over speed bumps and couldn't make the turn into inclined driveways, had to go over bumps an an angle and just forget about certain driveways and parking structures.

These days, I'm fine with the Stinger's ride height, which is still on the low side for me but would like the tuning of the G70. I don't know what they have done with that car but the ride height is similar but that car is tight and sporty for how it sits, which is very much the same ride height of the Stinger. That's my goal for my Stinger. Love reading about all these other options though and your cars looks good!

Right, I read that. But what I’m trying to figure out is what is the drop height. The link shows the product description saying 30mm/30mm which would be an even drop. I was under the impression that the front would’ve been lower than the rear.

From H&R, the drop is 30mm front and 20mm back.

I was a little concerned about the news section's wording because it looks like these springs were only for the Diesel RWD cars. After reading the spec sheet though it doesn't seem to matter.

Thanks for posting the specs. Based on what it states it looks like the only difference between the 28701-2 and the 28701-1 kits are which front springs they have. The 28701-2 uses a front spring marked "H&R 28701-2 VA". Both kits use the same "H&R 28701-1 HA" rear spring.

The 28701-2 VA front spring looks like it is shorter, smaller spring diameter and is made with a thinner wire diameter. Makes me believe that the -2 is just slightly softer than their -1 counterpart.

I wanted to confirm theres no difference between the two links. I’m going to order these today after work!!

Make sure that the part number is 28701-2. Not to be confused with 28701-1 which is for AWD. I couldn't find 28701-2 in the USA when I did my search, they didn't even recognize the part number because it just came out. So I had to buy it from deamontweaks in the UK.

Demon Tweaks does not have the part available on their website. Did you order over the phone?

thats what i’m going to do tonight if I cant get further definitive clarification. my only hesitation is from the ebay item description, saying its a 30mm/30mm drop not 30mm/20mm drop even though the part number is correct
