still fact is you don't get it it's not about the zero to sixty not even really about doing 165mph its the fact that we were not informed about this my car wasn't any cheaper it was hidden on page 8 of some brochure not even the dealers knew about it I didn't get a discount to buy a capped top speed and shit tires its all offered me, so if you and other dont want to help or like this thread then fack off and read another one because there's a lot of us that are pissed and you probably don't own one anyway

Personally, I wouldn't be bothered by the 130 mph limiter since I don't plan on going that fast but I'd want to know about it up-front. Other people do plan on going that fast or just want the ability to. Both positions are valid. I'm hoping Kia will make it right for the people who weren't informed about the limiter and don't want it.

Disclaimer: I'm getting the RWD.

Kia must be hearing the noise about this... I noticed the configurator on their website now has a note on the 18" wheel option:
  • Stinger GTs that are factory-equipped with 18-inch wheels are limited to 130 mph top speed (e.g., installation of 19-inch wheels will not increase the top speed).

They actually have it three places on that build page, and also twice on the features page. Good to see these posts likely leading to some full disclosure (even if they are causing a tad bit of tension here amongst friends). Maybe I should make more noise about the clearly visible 360 cameras in numerous US marketing website pages and documents. ;)

The problem is Kia didn't lie to you. There is enough documentation out there to prove that.

However, the dealership didn't inform you before purchase and the documented information is all in the fine prints that most people will miss.

As stated many times before, the Dealership was either not aware - therefore bad communication between Kia and the Dealerships - or the Dealerships did know but just didn't inform you.

Therefore you are annoyed at not being able to make an "informed" choice. The choice was made for you without your knowledge - that's why you are angry.

You can post here as much as you like, but have you been back to the dealership ? Do you know what type of compensation you would like to make you happy? Are you willing to reject the car? want do you want :-
  • Some form of compensation from Kia/Dealership as a good will gesture? , if so what do you feel is reasonable? A free Service? A Free Roof Rack? etc...
  • Reject your AWD and get a new RWD drive, at no cost to you.
  • Reject the car completely and get a full refund.
If the dealership says they can't help you, then have you written a letter to Kia explaining the situation ?

Again you can rant here as much as you like, but what are you doing about it ?

This topic is going around in circles because the people angry about it are just ranting, but nothing is being pushed forward.

Driving a GT car should be relaxing, fast, and eat up the miles in ease.

Doing over 130mph isn’t relaxing and I’ve never been at ease doing it.
In fact over 100mph I tend to hold the steering wheel tighter and stay very focused .... and when I get to my destination I’m defiantly not relaxed! :p

I’m not saying Kia dealers should have been more clued up and informative .... but it being a GT car has nothing to do with it. ;)

I find it relaxing to get on interstate and open it up to a minimum of 115 mph. Just to go to store. If the cop catches me so be it. So, no shit about the speed limit ok?

In the U.S. people don't buy sports cars to have one just like it speed past it out on the open road. There are so many roads to get up to 167.mph here in the U.S. , and yes if you speed, you will get fined. It's called CHIOCE. KIA took away my choice. What's next??? Gov't goes after are guns, fast cars, extravagant boats, and even are food!! In Vail co. The mc donald will not serve you biscuits and gravy, because they deemed it BAD FOR YOU. it is there number one seller for breakfast in America, but not in VAIL! In America we have FREEDOMS, our brave solders fought and died for us to have them. If i want to drive 167 mph i can, knowing there is a chance that I can be fined. It's a choice, like choosing to ride your bike in the bike lane, or wearing a helmet. When the Kia dealer hangs a banner up in their loby saying ( new stinger goes 167 mph, then the sticker on the car says NOTHING of the reduced speed. Its time for KIA to make this Right! If not soon there will be ice cream venders, with signs in their window saying ice cream for sale, but there will be a astrid next to it in wee writing that says some flavors come with Rat Poisoning. Oh crap!! Now you just bought something you didn't want..

Lmao yes please give me the creamed rat poisoned please! Hell, you are poetic!! Love it.

SHE STANDS AND APPLAUDS!!!

Fack off, no one should trivialize the beliefs of others. One problem with doing so showes lack of fortitude! Many Amaricans are losing fortitude and it is a great way for the goverment to see weakness! So, please if you are uninterested in the post, go on to another topic. Or, maybe school girl likes the drama?

Yes, I have been doing something! I have called dealer. I have called the special coustumer service at KIA. I was offered a remote start. Really, not what I want. I would be happy to put the correct tires on at my cost if they would remove limmiter.

However, are you smoking some shit tonight? Who would put a roof rack on this car? I dont want a SUV.

The "freedom" to put other people in danger is not a freedom worth having.

Are you aware, that you are stating an opinion? The Autobahn is proof that speed does not kill. So, to help improve your education I have supplied one link. If you would like, I will give you more.

8 reasons that Germany’s Autobahn is so much better than US highways

"The most accidents per 1.000 kilometers happen within city limits. The average human damage per accident is highest on country roads. Autobahn tracks are the safest roads in Germany. The fact that they are safer than freeways in most other EU countries is a very strong argument against a general speed limit."
(In addition I have included a quote from a general web search).

So, from what we have proven is your ignorance. I guess we should prohibit any driving in the city or on country roads.

However, I will give you that I do place myself at an increased risk of death. If I wrecked at top speeds in this car I most likely will die. Then know I would truely be sorry for inconveniencing your day (due to blocking the road). Just know I passed with a smile on my face because I made a

CHOICE!

Furthermore, if I make it please know that I have more medical insurance than needed. I even have ICU coverage and catastrophic riders. So, you or your family will not be harmed in any way.

Like I said I enjoy around 115 mph. However, we always want more! What chaps my but most is the lack of disclosure!

It is nice ro know that KIA may be watching these forums and taking note that AWD owners want disclosure for the limiter.

I followed your link to the build page. They have changed this page since I bought mine! Guess anyone who buys now has the disclosure. What is so sad is I bet only a few are affected. So, few that what loss would it be to make it right? If they would do so (with the few affected by disclosure) I am guessing they would lock down loyal costumers! So, KIA we know you are sluth footing around;) here is your chance GAIN loyalty!!!

OP was claiming that there are "lots of roads in the US" where you can go 167mph. Can you educate me about that?

I'll bite my tongue but your driving should be saved for the track. The interstate isn't the place to race your car. The Autobahn with no speed limit is not comparable to a US interstate.
