Based on what I am reading here, I don't see anywhere that KIA Corporate is trying to deceive customers. The documentation clearly states that the 18" wheel option lowers the top speed. This misinformation came from the dealership, specifically a salesperson(s) who clearly does not know the facts about the vehicle. I'm sure as enthusiasts most of us know more about these vehicles than a lot of the folks selling them. As said multiple times, you can work with your dealer or reach out to KIA corporate to see if they can assist. As humans, we understand that mistakes get made, the key is how you handle things when this occurs. Let's hope this can get resolved.

Going on a mission to disparage an entire company based on information from a salesperson that doesn't know his product seems like overkill. For that, you should have a nice chat with the General Manager of the dealership to work out something. I've had bad experience with sales folk, going to the top to express my dissatisfaction got results. Give that a shot, those folks have the power to do things your sales folk and their manager can't do. They car more about the business than your sales person does and want to ensure you have a good experience. Stop talking to the sale folk, look up who the GM is and reach out to them. Good luck.
I have reached out! We will see. I was at the dealership today for the map chip that they had not given me! GM was not in. I have his number and left message. 8/ over it today! Kinda seams like Stinger customers get a special costumer service. Maybe they should have had special sales people too. Not holding my breath on the GM. He never called me when my last car had major issues.

If you owned a Kia dealership, and one of your customers asked you to remove the speed limiter to allow them to drive the car faster than the factory tires could support, would you really do it?

If you were Kia, and you limited the top speed on certain cars specifically to minimize the potential of exceeding the tires speed rating, would you provide the dealership with the capability to override that built-in safety?

I just don't see it happening ... at least not by an authorized dealership and certainly not with Kia Corporate's blessing. Kia should have simply used a higher rated all-season tire for the 18" option.
Agree, they should have put tiers on that supported the higher speed. What I want is the 19" summer's and I will go buy my own winter with the correct rating for 167 mph!

From simply a practical standpoint I don't know that I'd ever exceed 150mph in anything but perfectly dry warm conditions on Summer tires. Are there even many Winter tires rated that high? The ones I know of are all H and V rated.

Not sure where you are but if you have other dealers close by, start developing a relationship with them so when one place can’t help you can turn to another.

Not to fuel this thread on, but if you want to do 150+ in all weather, you could get these Y rated tires.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (W- or Y-Speed Rated) for 2018 Kia Stinger GT
Can I ask why this link shows up as being to tirerack.com but when you click it or copy the URL it goes to some viglink redirect site that's clearly not what the poster intended? Is this the forums software switching links on us?

Edit: okay now it's going to tirerack. maybe my cookies were messed up or something?

I just recently purchased a stinger Gt 2, two days later found out it would only run 140 mph. This was serious mistake on my part, I noticed the 18 inch wheels and asked why, sales man at peak Kia, told me that awd cars had the option to get all season tires, and if you got that they changed the tire size to better fit. I thought sounds like crap, but he assured me Kia changed nothing else. Then found out different. I just knew when I seen the V speed rating on that 18 inch tire, that something was wrong. If any body knows why Kia done all of this I would love to hear it
Thanks, I live in Colorado so the awd is a must.
can you add a pole and let see how many of us got screwed then maybe strength in numbers may get better results

The forums software inserts weird automatic interstitial links on certain keywords it finds. You'll notice it when people write out the colors i.e. Ceramic Silver (we'll see if that turns into a viglink).

Ahh true, I guess I had just never noticed it on something that was already meant to be a linked URL. Either way I was glad to finally get to the link and the comparison video they did of those four all season ultra high performance tires was a good watch. I want considering doing summer/winter tires on separate rims but after watching that I think I might just do the Michelin or Pirelli's after I 1. finally find a yellow Stinger GT and 2. wear out the summers it comes with.

BF Goodwrench makes some really good ones, I have purchased two sets G2.

Right now I have more hope with KIA mothership than the dealer. The dealer I use is about the best in the area.

If you have issues with how Kia is equipping and configuring the cars for sale, take it up with the Regional office. The dealerships can do nothing.

still the fact that the dealers are the face of Kia and they did not tell us aboit this and we are expected to read a burried fine print in a brochure I wanted the 19's but couldn't get them dont care about what tires the fact is if i would have been informed I would have waited
