Been browsing the forums for a couple of weeks. Possibly interested in a Stinger GT1/2. Got a quote from a dealer below. What do you guys think?
1. 19 White/Red GT2 RWD $40,460 after discounts and rebates of $13,300 (MSRP - $53,760) RV - $25,882, Final price $42,179
2. 19 Ceramic Sil/Red GT1 AWD $38,740 after discounts and rebates of $12,300 (MSRP $51,040) RV - $25,012, Final price $40,430

Looks like those final #s are not quite what I thought. #1 ended up being closer to $48K and that is w/out the acquisition fee and TT&L fees!!! Almost back to MSRP!! Finance guy keeps telling me about it's all about the payments!! Anyone got near these #s for either car?

.. and that is your indication to run, not walk, away from this dealership.

Please listen to this. I got my last vehicle listening to this garbage and I got taken to the cleaners. It is a lesson I will never forget. A mistake I never will repeat. Between that and not fully understanding the lease game. Go in 110% prepared never trust anyone at the dealership and go online to check the numbers. The best part is they are licking their chops that my current lease is almost up and ready to clean me out again. I have to play nice thanks to Ford forcing me to return it to that dealership and not wanting to many extra post lease charges.

Yeah, this is where I'm at too! New to leasing! I'm just going to sit tight and see what happens. It sure is discouraging dealing with dealerships!

Contact Kia of Muncie.

That's where I bought mine. Great purchase experience!

Anyone ended up going the used route for a 2018? CarMax has several GT2s under $40k. Anyone with experience with CarMax? Is the "no haggle" price for real (meaning no haggling)?

The used market is still shaping up due to limited supply. It should be more clear in Oct and November when the first set of 2 year lease cars are put up for sale. Used right now on most models is a bad deal unless you're state has double tax on a lease. Right now it is 37-39k awd for one with acceptable miles under 15k. If you are in most states you can get new for 3-4k more with the lease buy out and avoid the what if game if the previous owner used it to hard. It might help if Kia had special interest on certified used like others but they dont. If you are buying used I would hold tight 60 days. That and the 20s will be out making the 18s a year older. The carmax prices are higher than the certified used I seen that have a few extra benefits.

Am I understanding correctly though that the 2020's are just the 800 GTS models that are coming out or are they just part of the 2020 models?

The GTS is a 2019 model in the US. The details on the 2020 model haven't been released for the US, but in other markets the 2020 is largely unchanged from 2019.

Changes for the MY20 over the MY19 model in Australia are limited to:

* Introduction of a heated steering wheel
* Additional sound deadening material in the roof.

Yeah, "final numbers" are always going to be "pumped back up again". Instead of worrying about holding that down as much as possible, only concern yourself with final price: is it about what you expect to pay going in? Comparing other stories of "killer deals" will only steal your joy of having the car you want for a price you are okay with.

Yeah, I guess I was looking at other deals for the same trims and did not want to be taken advantaged of. Especially, if I can hold off a month or two, which my current car is making it difficult to do. So would it be fair to say that a really good lease deal for the 19 GT1 is $38K-$40K and for the 19 GT2 $40K-$42K?? Both RWD!

BTW, the lease cash as explained to me by a sales manager was that is was not a "real" savings and that it is just used to bring down the monthly payment on a lease??

Incentives and dealer discount could bring base price down 10% below MSRP on a MY19 but probably less than that and rarely more. Then "they" add back in taxes and fees and costs and you are out the door several thousands more than the "agreed price of vehicle".

OTD has to be what you are expecting to pay, when all is said and done.

That explanation of Kia lease cash is about staying the course for the full lease period: not doing the buyout.

Backstory: So ended up at a Kia dealer late this evening around 7.30p. I was told they were open until 9p, but hardly anyone was there. The only 2 ppl that were there were about to close up shop b/c there were no customers for a couple of hrs and were told they could leave. Luckily, they were the 2 ppl I made contact with earlier in the day. Long story short, here were a couple of lease deals (36/12) that they offered me.

1. 19 GT1 Ceramic Silver RWD, Sale Price - $47,074, Lease Cash - $5,600, OTD - $41.5K (This has car has all the port installs + remote start)
2. 19 GT1 Black/Black RWD, Sale Price - $42,666, Lease Cash - $5,600, OTD - $37, 066 (This was a managers car and has 1300 miles on the clock and was on the lot for 207 days).

#2 was not my preferred color combo, but that price seems pretty good. I asked about the TT&L fees and was told that was part of the monthly payment. Is that typically the case? I may do this deal tomorrow and was hoping for some last minute feedback. Anything I need to confirm or ask about before signing any papers? I am undecided if I am going to do a trade-in. Not sure I'll get much for my car. Hoping to hear back soon as I will likely be talking to them for the most part of tomorrow. Thanks!

I think "fees and added costs" (and taxes) are missing. You'll see when it comes time to sign; "stuff" will be added back in, bigly. :P

Sigh! That is what I was not hoping for!! But considering what you read would #2 still be a good deal even if the fees were added?

@Kr33m0 How can they quote OTD without all the fees and taxes? It is really just a number they are throwing at you to see if you will bite and then start adding more fees to the final price.

I spoke to the Sales Mgr again this afternoon and had him go over all of the fees that were added to the sale price before the $5600 rebate. That included doc fee, acquisition fee, taxes and tags that brought the # up to $42.6K. I guess I will find out for sure when they hand me over to the "finance" guy and see if that number moves. I guess I was asking if the # does move, at what # do you walk away? Over $40K?

OTD is going to be close to the quoted sale price. And yes, I think that is a good price for a 2019 GT1. With 1,300 miles on it, not so much. I think you have dickering leverage on that point. But maybe the price is already lowered enough to take that into account. Somebody else who is an experienced car buyer can confirm. If it were me, I think you'll not noticed 1,300 miles on a car at c. 100K. It just won't show up. And if this particular vehicle is thousands lower than any of the other MY19s then that's the one I'd get (assuming perfection in all other areas, of course).

If they said that is final OTD, and then the price moves, that would be a deal breaker for me. I'd know this is getting scammy. (not a typo, scammy is just scummy  )
