Getting in and out

Hi, I haven't driven one yet but I walked around a GT1 tonight and was amazed how low this car sits to the ground. How is it climbing in and out of these things for you older folks? I'm 57 with arthritis creeping into my hands, which makes that push/pull on the steering wheel a bit of a thing sometimes.

I'm in my 30s but feel like I'm in my 60s sometimes. Getting into the Stinger is at least a hundred times easier than my Corvette is. I believe the GT1 also has the "easy entry/exit" which moves the seat back and steering wheel up for easier ingress/egress.

My premium has this feature as well......seat and steering wheel move. Yes, it sits low but once you’re in it is very very comfy. Getting out is not bad since I have my seat positioned higher than most would have it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he's referring to when you stop/start the car (accessory at least), the seat automatically moves back, and the steering wheel up.

You have to duck your head a little getting in but its not that bad.

It also depends on your height. I'm just over 5ft, I have no problems whatsoever

I find it a struggle to get in when I am straight out of bed and I have to bend down to get in. Need to be warmed up first. Must be the result of being 50 now.

The car is low so if you haven't been driving one at that height, it will take some getting used to. When I first got my 2018, I was having a tough time getting in and out of the vehicle. I only noticed about 8 month later, that I was able to get in and out without much issue as when I first got it. The steering wheel is power operated as well as the seats, as mentioned there is an easy access function, which moves the seat back when you open the door. The memory feature allows you to save 2 seating position, when pressed (after being saved) it will adjust the steering and seat to the saved position.

Funny story when I decided I needed/wanted a new car and now that we are getting a little older I thought perhaps an suv of some sort. So we starting looking I’m 5’9” and wife is 5’0” suv was fine for me not so good for her. We were at the Honda store looking at the CRV and I thought for fun I would sit in the new Accord. We both liked it and I was impressed with the trunk space so we re-evaluated this SUV thing. So happy we did. Anyway I got you by a couple years and my body is pretty worn down from years of competitive hockey and I have no problem getting in and out of my Stinger. I am a little more deliberate at doing it but no problem. The seat going back and the wheel up automatically helps. You can’t go wrong with a Stinger....you’ll love it as do 99% of the rest of us. Getting in and out of my 2018 GT2 is not bad at all. Apparently I may have been assembled out of spare parts. I have a 28" inseam, which would be 'normal' for someone 4' 5" tall? But I'm 6'. If my legs were a foot longer so a 40" inseam, that would be normal for someone 6' 10" tall. So getting my legs in is easy, but I have to be careful to lean forward to the side and get my butt clear into the seat to the console, then pull my head in to clear the top of the door. Then I can straighten up and my head clears the roof nicely, (with the seat all the way down, which is my normal position). On the whole, it doesn't seem quite as easy to get in and out of as my Corvette, but that was a convertible and it was {Oh my}, 54 years ago. But the Stinger is so much fun, it's well worth getting into.

Sounds like you got me on years. However, I can barely remember my Corvette let alone getting in and out of it and that was only 30 some odd years ago.

This has been very helpful. I'm 5'-7" and drive a '17 Chevy Impala now which is easy to manage, I'll get a drive in a Stinger soon. It sounds like it'll be a bit of an adjustment for me but nothing major.

You're going to have to start stretching before you drive.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm the youngest stinger owner on this forum . I'm 24, so I don't have any trouble. Although, I do find myself making old man grunts when I get out on a hill sometimes.
