Getting in and out

I crawl in from the passenger seat, but only when I'm wearing soccer cleats.

In all seriousness, I'm 29, so I can drop in just fine. One foot in, crouch down, grab the wheel for support, slip in and drop on the seat (I try to not slide on the bolster or seat bottom), but my Dad makes no end of fuss about getting in the passenger seat whenever he does. Not looking forward to having those issues as I get older.

Getting out of my C5 Vette much harder to the point I drive it little and continue to consider selling it. One issue I have with the GT1 is my knee hitting the fuel release door. I’ve gotten better with practice.

At 6'5" (and a lowered stinger), I just sort of set my feet and "fall in".
Getting out is a bit more difficult.

I’m 81 years young, and getting in my GT just calls for a “controlled descent” with a head tuck. Getting out is another matter. But, given the fun the car provides, it’s worth the effort.

I don’t have any issues getting in and out, I find my Honda Accord is lower which is funny since it’s my winter car.

6'3". No issues entering or exiting, from the test drive to now. I've developed an exit technique, where I pivot to the left and plant my left foot on the ground, swing my right foot carefully between the open door and bottom door sill and plant it beside my left foot (the top priority is that I don't touch any part of the door with my right foot as I am extracting it from the car): now I'm facing the open door straight on, i.e. sitting on the seat ninety degrees to the left: I hook my left elbow around the edge of the B pillar and push off the steering wheel with my right hand.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm the youngest stinger owner on this forum . I'm 24, so I don't have any trouble. Although, I do find myself making old man grunts when I get out on a hill sometimes.
I've got you beat at 23! :p I figured out how to get in and out after a few weeks. EZ PZ

Hi, I haven't driven one yet but I walked around a GT1 tonight and was amazed how low this car sits to the ground. How is it climbing in and out of these things for you older folks? I'm 57 with arthritis creeping into my hands, which makes that push/pull on the steering wheel a bit of a thing sometimes.
getting in an out of the car is nice no problems at all unless you are morbidly obese, also I recommend you see a Rheumatologist if you have not seen one already.

You maybe the youngest Stinger owner on the forum but I have heard in one of our NSW ‘s car meets, they had owners of a Rafa Stinger, they were only 19 yrs.

You all forced me to do research. Turns out that the Stinger is the tallest car I've ever owned! Consequently, I've never had a problem getting in or out of it, and I'm "formerly 5'9" (age does that to a spine) and old enough to have voted for McGovern. Muscles adapt to your habits. That said, a friend has to get out a stool for me to enter her '97 GMC van, and it still feels like mountain climbing.

@Flameangel, I'm stealing "growing old disgracefully." I love it and will aspire to it!

I use a method similar to what Merlin said. Another trick is use the two programmable seat options. Set option 1 to your driving one. Then when you go to get out of the car, adjust the steering wheel forward as far as it will go so it is out of your way, get your body rotated 90 degrees like Merlin said and feet outside the car. This is the tricky part for the first time, while seated sitting half out of the car, adjust the seat up which raises your body up 3 or 4 inches which makes it easier to get out. Once you get the right height on the seat that works, and the steering wheel is the best location for you to get out, program that as the second seat program. It ends up looking like this.

Open door, press 1 to get the seat ready for the graceful flop into the car. Getting out, swing your feet out, bend your head out of the door, press 2 on the door which will move the steering wheel out of the way and raise the seat up making it easier to stand. Works for me

I did, I'm doing the stuff you're supposed to do to not aggravate it.

@eljay ....
So good to hear  if I was to grow old " gracefully " I'd probably drive a small, oldies car but nah, that's just not me. To top it off I'm seriously considering a Borla Exhaust.:D

54 yo and I do the exact same method! Great minds?

Just my opinion which means nothing but.....

1. Tramp stamps are never tasteful.
2. Nose piercings never look good unless your from India.
3. Tattoos hurt too much?? How many kids have you had?? A tattoo is over quicker than labour. :)
