I'll use Top Tier premium, and change the oil early with Mobil 1 Extended. I want a reliable car. DonTest was stock. Read my post again. 14psi is nothing for this motor. Kia "recommends" premium. Data logs don't lie.
.. so yeah, really.

That fuel economy is incredible... I get like 22 average on my commute.Ive had it for a bout 10 months and only used 93. I havent been picky at all about where. Just at the cheapest place i can get it. Granted, i dont drag it much (read: at all) but haven't had any issues and am getting 26-27mpg. Thats better than i was getting on my ecoboost 4 cyl. Im not a fan of $4/gal gas (or the administration that caused it) so when it tops that, ill probably go down a notch on the octane and see if it affects the mpg any.
I rarely see 20, even 22 is fantastic long less 26-27.That fuel economy is incredible... I get like 22 average on my commute.
My dash computer doesn't always agree with reality - as I track it all in Fuelly.Just the dash computer. I drive 35 mile each way on the interstate with cruise set for 95% of it. On 200+ mi trips ill get close to 30.
Sucks watching the miles click away, im in the same boat. But i didn't buy mine to let it sit.Ive had it for a bout 10 months and only used 93. I havent been picky at all about where. nice. My cluster says stuff like that too. It just doesn't always match up with reality. It's pretty close sometimes.Stock 3.3 here.90% of my driving are easy highway miles. I only use 93 shell.View attachment 64902
Eh, I'd trust my ability to add and divide over anything else.I would think the on board computer is better equipped to know what the mpg is over an app on your phone. Why are you saying Fuelly is more accurate?
The onboard computer doesn't do the math the same way we would. I use it as a ballpark and to watch for general trends, but if I really need to know more precisely I'll do consecutive fillups from the exact same pump and use the odometer / gallons used since last fillup. For longer trips that isn't possible (with any more accuracy) so the trip computer is the best guess.I would think the on board computer is better equipped to know what the mpg is over an app on your phone. There's an issue with your casual interpretation of knock and its (entirely bad) consequences. The car knock/misfire sensor is detecting issues *after* they've happened, which means the thing it's designed to help prevent has already occurred. Repeated and extreme occurrences of misfire is one path toward piston and valve issues, including potentially engine-ending damage.... Seeing mild knock is completely normal in a stock engine, even if you run 91, 93 etc.. There is no "right" octane number. It depends on other variables such as temperature, humidity, elevation etc. I have found through JB4 logging that my car doesn't knock (pull timing) on 87 octane in Winter, Spring and Fall and most of Summer UNLESS the ambient temp is on the hotter side and heat soak starts. Let's say 80F or so... Now - even if the ECU does pull timing (knock) - it's not a bad thing.. it just means a bit less power. So again, there is no harm to the engine in any way...

The last thing we need is more division and anti-fact/anti-everythingism. If you have evidence post it, otherwise consider taking down what amounts to nothing more than rhetoric aimed to further divide.
Regarding the specifics of the topic, the world was reopneing late 2020/early 2021 as the vaccine became increasingly available. Demand for many things as you might recall and see in actual forum terms (car prices) rose overnight. The stimulus (passed under the Trump administration mind you) leading to inflation on top of the higher demand. It's economics. Not politics. But you don't see me posting things blaming the coronavirus on Trump, right? Check your motives.
