Installed the Akrapovic tips today! Really not much to shave off (top and bottom) of the stock bumper outlets. After install you do not see the shaved areas at all. I used a dremel cutting blade, pushed forward and back to shave the plastic, not cut. The dremel was VERY precise!!! You have to remove the mufflers to remove the OEM stainless tips, then make sure the tips can fit through the exhaust holes correctly, reinstall the mufflers and fit the Akrapovic tips. The look is so much better IMO.

Are the tips just wedged in there or did you attach them to the exhaust?

IMHO , the rear "architecture " of the car's design is very organic and really lends itself to the OEM oval shape the square butts of the Mopars , Lexus and BMW's somehow seem to suit the rectangular tailpipes ................looking forward to see it though !!

Rango.. did you put your car up on a lift or ramp.. or can this be done at ground level?

I put it up on ramps. I would not recommend trying the install ground level. You have to remove the mufflers to remove the stock tips.View attachment 10786

How hard is it to remove mufflers? I might do it myself for the gains and sound..

I installed them at the same time as my Magnaflow cat back. attached directly to the Magnaflow mufflers.

Rango - which spoiler did you put on the back?

How do you pop the originals out? Any others out there that could fit without any modding or cutting?

Removed the mufflers. Remove 2 bolts from the tips, slide them out. Very little cutting is needed on the top and bottom of the tip holes, maybe 1/8th of an inch or less. After cutting, if you reinstalled the originals, you could not tell that they had been cut.

They are wedged in because I did not want to cut the Stinger's exhaust holes more than necessary, but they are also attached firmly to the muffler tips with compression clamps. You can order these tips in any inlet size on Aliexpress. Mine are 2.5 inch (89mm) to fit the stock exaust. On the SSR muffler delete axlebacks, the pipe ends look much larger than 2.5. Would have to measure and order the correct diameter for the pipes. I'll take some pics for u tomorrow in the daylight.

Could you also please take a close-up photo or two straight on from the rear of the car to show how much of a gap there is on the left and right around the Akrapovic tips? That's my one reservation about doing this. I'm not sure i'll love seeing that gap in the diffuser around the tips. The OE tips fit pretty snug.
