Exhaust Tips

Seem to be having an issue with one of my exhaust tips. Has anyone else had a melting issue like this. Seems like the inner exhaust tips on both sides deal with much more heat, as both are discoloured compared to the outside tips.

My one tip on passenger side is melting. Been on car for about a year and a half. Just noticed it this weekend. Wondering if it was due to a couple brake pad break-in procedures I did, or a long 600km trip .
Look on the bright side... You got 1.5 years out of knock-off tips.

Not sure if serious or not lol. That 1.5 years equates to not even 8000kms(5000miles). In any case I would figure at least 20000kms out of them before discoloration. Wondering if anyone else had the same issue.
At $200 plus shipping I expected more I guess. Sure you can spend 1000$ on tips but does that mean you won't run into issues?

Like I said, you bought fake tips. That's where your expectations should be aligned. Not "I got $1000 exhaust tips for $200". You buy a reputable brand you might have someone to talk to if you run into issues... I don't think you're going to find anyone in China who cares. Sorry.

Easy there, not sure why the hostility. My main post was to see if anyone had the same issue with these fake tips. Being critical off the bat isn't being helpful to anyone that may have the issue. Given I have an mbrp exhaust, the choices are slim in tip options of a high quality.

I did not ask if I could get help from a Chinese manufacturer to warranty it in my original post. You are correct that cheap tips are an issue and that I may need to buy new ones. That's not a problem for me. Just wanted to see if some others had the same issue or I got a bad one, or insight as to why just the inner tips have the issue.
Plenty of owners on here have the same tips of similar quality and I haven't seen anyone post discolouration or melting issues.

Is there any other higher quality tip that you or anyone can recommend for an mbrp 63mm inlet, or are all our options from China?

Just installed the stainless tips (OEM look), from ali-express. Reading thru some of these posts, I am concerned with them melting the diffuser. Anyone that has them have any feedback/experience?

I have the SS tips . No issues so far. 8k miles. Only thing is the black smog from the exhaust gas, Onto the edges of the tips. But I wash my car once every two week, hand wash

I've had mine on since December, including 2 4-hour long each way round trips, no melting.

No hostility whatsoever. Hopefully you can get the information you are looking for. All the tips I see for our exhausts are either Borla or from China. I know Borla is based in Tenn. but maybe theirs comes from China too. I doubt it but...

Yeah definitely the Borla are nice but they are similar to the stock, ie the pipes just rest in them which can be an issue for vibration and drone with an aftermarket catback.

Maybe my issue and others if they have the same issue, will prevent or educate others from purchasing the fake ones.

I've been holding off forever. Something about paying more for shipping than the item itself irritates me.

Do you know if there is a similar option for the Borla system? Something other than the $1k Borla CF tips.

Edit: I just finally found another reply from you...

"Search Ailexpress it’s kinda like eBay.
Oval tips 51x105 no trimming the bumper
Around tips 51x89 need to trim the bumper"

So Borla just needs Ovals @ 51x105 to fit and avoid shaving?

No I did for 2 weeks before I got tips. So I really appreciated the drastic difference when I installed them!
What tips are you using on your Borla system? Something other than the Borla CF tips?

Ok looking for some opinions. How do rhese look? Stick out too far? Had em on a few days. Really helped reduce exhaust noise in cabin berhey stick out, versus my old tips. Running Borla.
I think they look good. Hard to tell how far they extend based on the angle of the picture though. What are those tips? I'm looking for something for my Borla.

correct for Borla, oval 51x105

I just installed some cheap Chinese tips and couldn't be happier. The reduction of cabin sound is brilliant. All the sound goes out the back.

This is what I am looking for, preferably gloss black ones to go with my rims. Does anyone have any handy links as I am uncertain what size would work, preferably without any cutting in case I need to revert to stock when I sell it.

Also are the stock ones just held on with clamps?

The stock ones are bolted to the lower valance and aren't' attached to the exhaust at all.

Ah so the bolts are inside the valance?

Has anyone tried to powder coat the stock tips? The guy that powdercoated my rims said he could do them quite inexpensively.

Yessir, and powdercoating them shouldn't be an issue, some have even rattle canned them.
