POWEEEEEEEEEEEEER haha. The vibration from my Borla unscrewed the mounting bracket on my rear dashcam. I'm waiting on some exhaust tips to help with the vibration. Also makes my HUD vibrate a bit haha.
Hi Typeface and Evenarris.. I think I may have been speaking to one of you on the Fb site messenger briefly the other week.. the tip of the xforce exhuast i have is 52mm/2inch... What tips did you order for the 2inch size.. and yes.. I have a horrible vibration through the armrest. Going to JHP in Nunawading on Tuesday week to correct the install. Would be good to hear how the tips went to reduce the drone.
Hi Kdee10, wasn't me on FB, I measured my exhaust ends at 57mm outer diameter so ordered 57mm to 89mm tips, had to do small amount Dremel work and I also put a pop rivet in each tip to keep them in place as the clamps kept loosening off over time.
i measured my exhaust exit at 61mm cold and ive ordered 63mmx90mm. Im expecting some dremel work as well. How well did that poprivit keep it in place? Im guessing the clamps they provide would be sub-par.
The clamps were pretty good to be honest but after one of them became a little loose one day I thought a pop rivet underneath would make sure it didn't fall offi measured my exhaust exit at 61mm cold, and ive ordered 63mmx90mm. Yeah a bit strange hey, a case of whatever offcuts they had lying around I would sayI measured the xforce tip and it came to 52 mm... how the hell can these differ so much.
Just got the Akropavic exhaust tips that most people in this thread have recommended. However, today i stuck down some stage 1 sound deadener in the boot and under the rear seats and its reduced the reverb and drone in my car by a good 50-60%. Im so happy about it but it cut my hands up so badWhich tips did you order, i would be interested to hear how long it takes to get to you, and also how the tips reduce the drove in cabin. What is the sound deadened that you used? I got some generic stuff off Amazon. Planning to line the trunk and inside the roof.Just got the Akropavic exhaust tips that most people in this thread have recommended. I got some stage 1 deadener from carbuilders.com.au. I’ve used them a few times with my last project car. It’s decent stuff and it’s easy to lay. The trunks an easy 30minute job once you get everything out of it. It’s pretty heavy and putting it in the roof lining might be interesting. What is the sound deadened that you used? I got some 80 mil noico from Amazon. Planning to get 300mil foam and lay it over that.I got some stage 1 deadener from carbuilders.com.au. I’ve used them a few times with my last project car. I still have stock exaust so no drone. I wanted to jump on the quick silver deal but the economy is destroying my industry so I didn't. Soon I hope to join the drone problems and I love reading this thread. I do like the new look and i wonder how long it will take the wife to notice.Looks good. Does nothing for drone but I like the look.
I'm old school like that too. they haven't arrived yet, but...Hey gang,
I have an MBRP exhaust system sitting in my garage waiting for my exhaust shop to reopen here in Cali. I just browsed through this whole thread and have a question... Has anyone found any legit oval tips in stainless finish?? I just went through this whole thread and didn't see anything.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but love the look of the stock tips. However, I still want to control drone when I get the exhaust installed. The Oval Akrapovic tips look great, except they only come in black or carbon fiber. I prefer the stainless since I'm not going with a blacked out look for the rest of the car. Are there any "Real" tips out there that emulate the stock look? Or should I just try the "Drone Fix" with exhaust wrap first?
Thx!
oh I am using clamps. they haven't moved since my last attempt, but i've only driven the car once. we'll see if they stay. sound reduction in the car is huge with the wrap in the right place.Awesome! I'd love to see pics when you get them installed.
Also, have you tried using hose clamps on the exhaust wraps? That's what I may use if I stick with stock tips.
Good find! I got a set in 60mm in my cart (I'm also on the Quicksilver train).I'm old school like that too. they haven't arrived yet, but...

make sure the inlet diameter matches your MBRP tips. I ordered 63mm type A tips for my Quicksilver only to find out I should have probably gotten 60mm. we'll find out when they get here in a month.
I can't get the blasted exhaust wrap to stay in place. it'll have do until the tips get here. Did drop the drone almost entirely.
