Exhaust Tips

I hope you are mistaken because all the other MBRP owner claim they ordered 63mm in tips. I recently ordered those tips and the exhaust, hope it works.

It’s not that hard. It’s whether there’s a taper coming off the muffler. For example, the Borla has a taper to 2” or 51mm. The MBRP doesn’t, so it’s 2.5” or 63mm. I don’t recall what stock is, but I assume it’s also 51mm, which is what Borla based their design. Regardless, the 105mm remains the same for oval tips. 89mm would be for round tips.

If you have an MBRP and want oval exhaust tips it’s 63x105.

Awesome those are the ones I ordered.

Anyone had issues with their aftermarket tips rotating over time? One of mine is always misaligned after about 2 weeks, looking for the best material to fill the gap.

Some thin insulation tape should make the difference unless your air gap is too small, in that case I would try some exaust paste;)

I used an exhaust sealant on mine and then tightened them down and they haven't budged.

Sheeeeet...Went to install the Akrapovic exhaust tips today. Removed the muffler (Borla) and the OEM tips and installed the Akrapovic tips. Went to reinstall the muffler and F meeeee...they don't fit. They wont even go over the Borla pipes. As per all the posts, I ordered 51mm-89mm from Aliexpress. Not sure why they fit for others with the Borla but doesn't fit mine:( Gonna try to return them and get the proper size. I'm thinking 57-89. If I have to add some filler for them to set tight then so be it. Sooooo pissed as this seems to be one of the last nice days we're gonna have here til spring. With how long it takes Ali to get orders delivered, it may end up being a spring project now. Crap

Just the tips are in...
Received a special delivery today.
My Akrapovič tips arrived!
Ordered on Nov 11th.
63mm in Size B

Awaiting MBRP SS Exhaust. Ordered Nov. 20th, w/ a ship date of Nov. 29th.

I just trimmed out my diffuser and had a custom tip and set up installed. Huuuuge difference in interior sound. I’m thinking I could go muffler delete with resonators and be fine.

Tried to find something on this, but couldn't. So, if it out there somewhere, sorry.

Just purchased my MBRP exhaust yesterday. Now, I am looking at getting these exhaust tips from Amazon since I would rather spend the extra $20 then potentially wait a month with DHGate or AliExpress. Can anyone comment if they have any experience with them? Look the same as the Chinese variety to me.

Disregard this post. I just found them even cheaper on eBay. Ordering those for under $100. :)

Cause of German laws i had to fit the "new" tips to the original tip holder. Cutting the original out and welding the new ones onto it.
Added a new collecting funnel to each too, to avoid humidity and exhaust gases crawling behind the rear skirt and cause problems and bad smell in the car.

So no direct contact between the exhaust and the new tips was needed. They are fitted into the reart skirt like the original ones. 7,?x10,5cm will fill out ecact the cuttings in the rear skirt, like the original tips does.

This will be eventually a solution for all user having trouble with the fitting (diameter, length).

The "collecting funnel" pieces are narrowing for a rain gutter.^^

Sorry for the dirty car and bad english. ;-)

So basically these Akr require some type of modifications on a stock exchaust tip; And only after market exhaust will it fit with absolutely no modifications/cutting/grinding?

No. If you buy the 51mm inlet version with 105mm oval outlet you can install on stock exhaust with no cutting/modification required.

All of these tips require the removal of the stock exhaust tips. That’s why most people do it at the same time as their exhaust install because you have to drop the muffler to get the stock tips off.

I ordered 4 pieces total. The tips are sold individually. Each muffler has two tips. Proper outlet size is 105 x 75 mm, inlet size (ie the outer diameter of your tailpipes where the tips will slide over and attach) depends on your specific application and should be measured. Borla tailpipes are 2 inches, about 51 mm. I don't know stock or other systems', but a cheap set of calipers will tell you.

Just to confirm for those who have Borla exhaust we want the 51mm option with the 105/ 75 outlet correct?
