Some are fine, but they require customized fine tuning. OTS maps do not work well in this situation.
I would think a better alternative would be to simply purchase a replacement ECU from EBAY or other online vendor.Ok, so basically anyone who has hooked up a JB4 with EWG wires is f&*%ed unless they fry their ECU, and get kia to replace it.
was being a little extreme, but it was just to be direct to the point.I would think a better alternative would be to simply purchase a replacement ECU from EBAY or other online vendor.
If SXTH says they aren't going to attempt to tune any more cars that have used EWG wires it ultimately doesn't matter whether Terry thinks this issue should be occurring or not. From what I've seen all of the major tuners will source a replacement ECU for you if necessary. If you had the EWG wires and they caused issues with tuning then replacing the ECU is just an unfortunate added cost of tuning.was being a little extreme, but it was just to be direct to the point.
just don't see how a piggy back system that doesn't write to the ECU is causing issues like this.
maybe @Terry@BMS can chime in on this
See my explanation above. It's the same reason piggybacks cause trans slip on 8DCT in the JSN/OSN/CN7N.was being a little extreme, but it was just to be direct to the point.

you know how when you do something enough times you learn how to do it without instructions after a certain period of time and you get the ability to adapt that process to changes? Same concept. That's about as simple as I can explain it.was being a little extreme, but it was just to be direct to the point.

Makes sense to a degree, depends on what learning algorithms it uses.you know how when you do something enough times you learn how to do it without instructions after a certain period of time and you get the ability to adapt that process to changes? Please let us know how it goes. I have the BEF from him and it works nicely.I've reached out to Terry and I'm going to try his BEF and see if that gets me right.
Do a pull in map0, cuz you definitely need better gas or meth.Ok I'm back. I got the BEF from Terry and did a couple pulls on Map 2 as instructed. The power was there but felt choppy. My boost never went past 21-22 but I lost the ISG (Idle Stop and Go) Disable feature which makes me sad. Those that can read logs let me know how it looks please.
Yeah that’s correct. With the BEF it’s already like map 1 or 2, any map besides 0 on the jb4 is just adding, so you need better gas or try mixing some E85.Do a pull in map0, cuz you definitely need better gas or meth.
I was on 93 with 4.5 gallons of e85Do a pull in map0, cuz you definitely need better gas or meth.
much better but still not great. Time for meth, your pump gas is clearly not up to the task. still pulling 6 degrees in some places.Did another few runs. Terry said to only have Bit 1 on and all others off. Waiting for his reply. Map 2/93 octane with 4.5 gallons e85.
I need to try and get timing down to under 3 correct?much better but still not great. Time for meth, your pump gas is clearly not up to the task. still pulling 6 degrees in some places.
I need to try and get timing down to under 3 correct?
That would be idealI need to try and get timing down to under 3 correct?
Terry had me turn option 0 on, all other options off so he can evaluatei'm comparing mine and yours, besides that i'm using map 3 and you are using map 2. I have the fuel Bias set to 119 and yours is at 50. not sure if that makes a difference, also yours is showing a safety error of 3
seems that I have option 0 on as well which then ignores those settings. Ignore my last post thenTerry had me turn option 0 on, all other options off so he can evaluate
