Differential issue

How was the weather at the time, road condition, was the car in the shop keeping toast warm, so there tires would be more plyable? Get the winters on, see if it solves the issue and enjoy the car the way you should be. If it still occurs, god help you.
"The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice."

Honestly this just makes too much sense. Fingers crossed.

If they have any other stingers on the lot, just have them check to see if any of them have All seasons on them, if they do, swap out the tires for a day and you should know pretty quick if that's the case.

The problem is there is such limited stock on the Stingers - they just don't have anything on hand.

Thats a shame. Alternatively, The K5 also has the same bolt pattern that the Stinger does, so if they have one of those on hand, they could try that too.

But....

Brembos

Not sure if they would fit! (Maybe)

^^^All OEM Stinger wheels fit all trims.

But the suggestion was for a K5
That's truuue. Sorry about that. Looking around, it looks like the offset for the K5 wheels will be too much, c. 50; the least offset I see is 46.

What you're describing sounds like normal behavior for a LSD with wide summer tires. It's not broken, but you also shouldn't be using those tires in winter.

Note that my rear LSD does make noise and shudder in tight slow turns when I'm on my summers but not when i'm using winters. It's just the nature of how these LSDs work. It's still infinitely less aggressive then the 2 way LSD I have in my Nissan 240sx.

The complete failure of the service team at the dealership and Kia Canada if this was the problem all along would just be something else....

It's worse.

The "problem" - isn't even a problem. It's a normal characteristic of the vehicle (NFF - no fault found).

Still a complete failure of the service team for stringing you along.

well we don't necessarily know that what is actually happening is because of the awful tires until OP gets them swapped and tries it, but still

One of the wheels sounds like its making an old couch creaking noise since I picked up the car. Maybe the shocks were tightened too much when they replaced the differential (if that even makes sense). I sent the noise to them and I will be going in hopefully in the next couple of days for them to check out this new noise, and to swap tires to try that.

I will keep you all updated. So curious.

I should hold off on this comment in case it is not the tires, but it would have been so easy if there was just one person who - like on here - would say oh, no that's the tires cuz they are summers. Perfectly normal in this temperature. End of discussion. I would have gone straight to swap winters already instead of trying to wait for next winter.

I really don't get why the hell they come with summer tires. They delivered me a car in December, in sub-zero temperatures in Canada with summer tires on.

because that's how performance cars are sold, with high grip summer performance tires. The tires are on the car from the factory, so its safe to assume that the dealer didn't even think twice about swapping the tires out. unfortunately this is something that can happen, and considering the way your dealer has been already, I cant say that I'm surprised they didn't catch it.

This is my first true performance sedan so I had no clue. I also have never driven on summers before. But yah, how do they not know this. I guess because this is Kia's first performance sedan and no one knows how it works.

I totally understand having never driven on summers before with you being in canada.

I hate making excuses for the dealer, but they are primarily working with FWD economy cars and might not know how RWD and LSDs operate and feel while driving. That said Kia should really put a TSB out there for these dealer shops to get familar with the LSD's operation.

Check the sway bar brackets and the links. Mine made a creaking noise over larger speed bumps and it was the link wasn’t torqued enough after I replaced them. It doesn’t sound like it’s coming from there because the brackets transmit the sound through the body.

Why did you replace the end links?
