Defeats

Lost a freeway roll to a challenger scat pack from 70-130 i had him ;)

I know i would lose to my coworkers newer model camero because ive drivin it and
... yea its quick as heck. Would come down to gearing

I have many wins but they were expected. I want to race faster cars to see the difference first hand .

I have a 2016 Camaro 2SS (6th Gen). Your buddy has the same car (6th Gen). If you’re modded, you shouldn’t lose to it because power mods on that NA 6.2L are few and far in between for most people. If you lose then it’s time for the most critical mod — a driver mod.

i gaurentee if i was drving both i could lose to myself

Went 3 losses when 20 roll racing a bootmod 1 m4...and 2 wins from a dig...those m4 are pretty quick...was at the rear wheel the entire time so wasnt a big loss...but still lost.

Any proposed confrontation "adventures" I have (rare enough) will automatically go to this thread, since I do not race, i.e. I concede automatically. (In the event that someone like this guy lines up in the front row at a traffic light, I might "win", or not, depending: but it won't be a race, since I would engage the kickdown switch regardless: they would just happen to be there: and of course if the outcome goes to the Stinger, I'll post it in the "Kill Tally" thread. :D)

Just returned from a nice little journey up north, almost all freeway driving (a family gathering). The up and back was very satisfying: especially the red Dodge Charger (c. 2012) with flashy red on black wheels, very clean and loafing in the commuter lane: I pulled out and eased by at my set cruise speed of 78; a little later on, up comes the Charger from the rear and pulls alongside in the left lane: he gives a throaty “hello” and moves up a couple of car lengths on me and lets me come alongside again. My wife suggested it would be fun to find an open place and engage in a rolling start: I reminded her that I do not race, and accelerating from a slow-down to extralegal (even if that is only ten over and very brief) is crossing that line: we would be testing acceleration of each other’s cars, which is RACING (and I made a promise years ago never to do that again). “I understand. Forgive me for tempting you,” she said. At one point before that final word on the matter, she had been looking across me trying to see who those people were (through the tint), and lifted a hand in greeting: “Don’t wave to them,” I said, “They’ll mistake your body language as an acceptance to duel.” :p

They went away unrequited, but I made sure that they saw me admiring their car first. I'd guess that they know what a Stinger is, or I would not have received the attention. :D

It was a very pretty Charger, very clean, but with some random white stickers on the sides and in the rear window that I did not recognize; and the plate said, "BEEHIVE" - which is as apropos as my plate, since Utah is known as "the beehive state".

a little later on, up comes the Charger from the rear and pulls alongside in the left lane:

This is neither a defeat/win especially in a 2.0 but what I find very funny is the number of so-called "muscle" cars that come up to challenge. Had a Camaro LT1 (NOT ZL1) creeping up behind me coming from work (happens almost daily) and it took him a few minutes to get close because it seemed that he was trying to figure if I were really a GT or had mods.....

I guess he was convinced that it was worth a go and he gunned it going around me. At the time, I was jb4 map2 and did the same behind him. At that point, i "anticipated" him mashing the gas so I mashed mine just before him to give him the "illusion" that I could go step for step with him. He got caught in slow traffic and I shot around him in another lane and disappeared.

I laughed my ass off all the way to my apartment!!!!! I wonder if he ever new that I was not a GT????

No one challenges the awesomemobile, it looks super fast just parked. Only once and that was a trackhawk, the noise the power it was insane i felt like i was driving a mobility scooter in comparison.

The guy may have taken the Camaro back to the dealer and asked for a refund.

Not a kill/race per-se so I'll put it here. I baby my car BIG TIME and never "race" on public roads. Last week, the wife and I we're on the highway just cruising in the middle lane. My wife pointed out a black Giulia Ti Q4 in the far right lane and asked what kind of car it was. I told her it was an Alfa and she recalled how I was considering one before I bought the Stinger but the horrendous reliability kept me away. We passed by it without incident. He then shot over 2 lanes into the passing lane and flew by me. Whatever...don't care. Then he pulled directly in front of me, waited a few seconds, and punched it again. Whatever...don't care. My wife says "That Giulia is driving like an ASSHAT" lol. The center lane, which we were both in, started to slow down so I moved into the far left passing lane and safely passed the Giulia and the grocery getter that was slowing us down. The Giulia aggressively shot in behind me and was glued to my bumper. My wife goes "Holy shit...that Giulia is RIGHT on your ass!!" I'm talking 3-4 feet TOPS. There was no one in front of us for a few hundred yards so I said F-it, dropped her down to 4th and mashed the pedal. To his credit, he kept up for the first few seconds (I assume he was tuned...JB4 perhaps) but once I upshifted to 5th, I walked him HARD. After putting a few car lengths between us, my wife was smirking, looking in the side mirror and said "HA...smoked!" If you know my wife, this was sooo out of character lol. I then noticed he slowed down considerably (to 50 or so) and put on his blinker. He moved all the way over to the slow lane and disappeared from sight. There was no exit for a couple miles so I think his car may have gone into "limp" mode as they're so known to do. Sorry for breaking your Giulia man...:whistle:Made me feel pretty good...if you go on the Giulia forums there's A LOT of Stinger hate in there. Now if that was a Quadrifoglio this would've been a WHOLE different story...I probably would've just moved over for him lol.

"I pass fast, I do not race". Except, apparently, with perfect storm temptation conditions. Funny thing is, I was with my wife and this was taking "the long way home" from church. :D A Corvette C7 got on in front of us on the Bungler Hwy at 104th South, and exited in front of us on the 114th South offramp. He was in the left hand lane in front of us. I moved to Sport mode, expecting to get in a nice dig anyway on the northbound onramp after doing a U-turn. The Vette had the exact same idea, apparently, and I hit the kickdown switch the instant he opened up on me: he pulled on me maybe fifteen more feet before I hung there all the way to the end of the onramp, where we both let off doing over a hundred - I judged by how long it took me to coast back down to seventy, at which point we had coasted by him. My wife laughed the whole way up the onramp; she said he was a young guy who kept his eyes straight ahead. I'm guessing that he didn't want to acknowledge that a Kia had kept pace that close with his V8. Anyway, I lost, except that it didn't feel like it: he stayed out of the way of my kickdown switch dig. Hah.

I’m surprised at you! You’ve been hanging around these young kids too long

Time for Merlin to come to the darkside and tune his stinger to 600whp
I would never do that to my car. If speed becomes an addiction, I'll get something more dedicated to raw performance. That Vette looks tasty. :)

Always nice to get some adrenaline in the veins!!!
The flashing blue and red lights in the rearview mirrors isn't the kind we want to feel. :P As long as this temptation rears its lovely head, even occasionally, it's only a matter of time, I reckon.

I managed to outdrive them when i was 17 in a Mazda glc wagon. I should have no problems in the stinger.

If you feel the flashing blue and reds are inevitable you may as well tune and really enjoy your moments of self indulgence.

but Billy , you realize Merlin has more children and offspring than Noah ! .............Christmas presents for 50 ..or Stinger tuning ?? Brother Merlin is all about family .............till he buys that Corvette ! bawaaaaaaa

Not technically a race (But I 100% would have lost if we did) but I was driving home from work and came across an R35 that was wrapped, had aftermarket wheels and at least an exhaust on it, but probably more considering it had "Tuned by whatever" stickers on it. Pulled up next to the driver and waved and gave a thumbs up, sped off (as he was just putt putting in the slow lane) and he followed me like a game of cat and mouse for about 20 miles or so, we had a blast going back and forth with each other on the highway, smiling and laughing at each other after each pass, and when my exit came up I signaled to him and he pulled up, gave me a wave, a smile, and a Thumbs up, and then sped off into the sunset. I felt like a made a friend. At the time I was literally coming back from picking my car up from the dealer as it was in from a warranty claim, so my JB4 was removed, and I didn't have a lot of the mods that I do now on it, which is why I know for a fact that I would not stand a chance if we actually went for it. I would have been given a gift card to gapplebees.
