What's everyone running for braided steel brake lines these days? There don't seem to be many options out there, and I'm concerned that some vendors are incorrectly selling 2010-16 Genesis Coupe brake lines for the Stinger, even though the lengths are different. I track/HPDE and daily my car, so I don't want to take a chance on poorly fitting lines.

Im using these:

I don't know if they're considered better than the Enthuspec's below, but I like to see the SS braid in the clear covers.

Enthuspec's:

FYI, this vendor has had some issues with members here, but I did buy several brake items from these guys and for the most part it worked out fine, but BEWARE, even if you call and they say the item is in stock, it might not be and you'll have to wait. This happened to me on 1/3 orders I placed with these guys, but there was no rush, so no biggie this time...

Here’s another option for you.

I bought the Stoptech meant for the Genesis Coupe. Haven't had a chance to install them but don't see why they wouldn't work. I'll post up pics when I get a chance to compare with stock lines.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

950.51001 Front
950.51501 Rear

EDIT: Fixed

Khartunerz seems to have the best price but.. buyer beware. I got mine from them but I got lucky.

I ordered from Khartunerz (back in Feb 2020) and got:
970.5045904 (Front)
970.5045901 (Rear)

Which were the genesis coupe lines. And they've been fine (at least, my regular mechanic and my track mechanic didn't complain about them). Including 7 track days :-)

Maybe they've now introduced a Stinger-specific part number?

IMR had the numbers for Kia Stinger, I just searched as such and they came up as the Stinger lines. I'm fairly certain that is what used on my 18 GT2.

I sure hope so. Or else I'm out $200. :D

You have Brembo on the 2.0?

Yeah, thinking about it more, those numbers may have been Khartunerz-edited or something. It's been 3 years (just a bit pre-Covid), so it's pretty blurry.. They specifically said Genesis Coupe on them, and I remember asking if they sent the right parts, and they said they work for both.

I think you have front/rear numbers reversed. 51001 is front, 51501 is rear, according to
Search By Vehicle Type | Brake Kit | Centric Parts (and repeat for 51501)

Yes I do, oops.

You have Brembo on the 2.0?
Yep. Very first mod I did when I got the Stinger. Back around the end of 2020, I search online to see if anybody had done a Brembo conversion. A few Genesis Coupes showed up, but no Stinger or G70. I looked on OEM parts microfiche site and confirmed the hub carriers, to which the brake calipers are bolted, are the same part numbers for 3.3T and 2.0T Stingers. So I was pretty sure the calipers would bolt right on. Wasn't sure if the Brembo calipers would clear everything else. Luckily for me, an ebay listing for a set of near mint Brembos calipers right about that time turned out to be a local seller, so I ended up meeting him in person and handed him 4 Franklins in exchange for the calipers. It was a leap of faith, but worked out great!

This is right after I did the conversion. Still on OEM 18s and stock everything else back then.

NIce work.

Awesome. These days, I might (briefly) consider the 2.5T + Brembos.

Silly question: are you upgrading both cars (Stinger + G70)? IIRC, you only need one "bag" for the front, one for the rear, but your picture shows 2 of each?

Do it, it's definitely worth it! Fronts have been done for about 6months now, rears getting done at the end of the month, when my snows come off. The 2.5T brakes are pretty good, but even with just the fronts done, it's GREAT!

Yes. Both cars have gotten mostly identical mods so far.

Highly recommend Brembo conversion. It is a must do IMO. If I can have only one mod done, I would value it above the JB4, or any of the suspension mods I've got. Granted, the enhanced braking is felt much more at the track, but even for every day driving, pedal response is much more linear and easier to modulate. I would even consider it a major appearance upgrade.

Granted, Brembo calipers have gotten a bit pricier these days. Now that everybody knows it can be done fairly easily, the demand has gone up. Most used sets I've seen are around $1k, so by the time you add rotors (and the rear dust shields, if you want to) plus other sundry items, it's $1500+. Even at the price, IMO it is still a performance bargain.

You can always do just the front and get 70-80% of the overall performance.

Thanks. I was saying, if I was buying all over, I might consider a 2.5T Stinger + Brembo upgrade instead of the 3.3TT. However, I already have my '19 GT1 AWD (and I wasn't going to go to a 2.0T), so I already have Brembos and I added SS lines (and SRF fluid, and G-Loc Race pads, etc), so it's not like I'm on the fence NOW about anything..

Got ya. Should've looked at your sig. All good.

Yeah, if the 2.5T was available when I bought mine back in '20, I would've seriously considered it. As I was buying the car for eventually handing over to my 2nd son, the 3.3T was out of the question. :)

Anyhow, sorry for hijacking the thread.

What had me worried is if you look up stock rubber brake hoses for the Stinger and Genesis Coupe you'll find they're different lengths. Here's lengths I pulled from Rock Auto:

I'm sure they use the same hose ends, but having brake hoses that are too short seems no bueno to me. Even the one photo on the khartunerz listing shows the braided steel front line visibly shorter than the OEM:
