Clear cut intake winner?

You guys with the stock airboxes and scoops, nothing wrong with running them, just be aware you're going to be slower than cars with full intakes. :)

I agree

because of restriction in the factory setup

been off this for a while busy at work, but gearing up for first of year mods....intakes, velosa air ducts, then possible exhaust.
correct me if I am wrong, but the heat shields on the KnN intakes look more substantial than the BMS intakes?
live in hot climate, so really want as much protection as possible. main goal of intakes is the sound.
Also, anyone had any fitment issues with the BMS? now, interested in BMS as well as KnN.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The BMS system reuses the factory plastic airbox bottom and inlet system which is quite effective. The top part of the BMS heat shield is just for radiant engine bay heat.

I have the K&N intakes, mostly because thats all that was available when I got them. If I could do it all over again I would get the Agency Power intakes first. The JT second(if money and time was acceptable) BMS intakes third. Anything else isn't worth it imo.

Just curious why this order? Been looking around for intakes but not planning to do soon.

Factory intake is probably best suited for you. I think its pretty much a given you'll always lose some low end torque to get those mid/high end gains with an intake. But remember that the loss is really only something you'll experience in your initial takeoff, once you're on throttle you'll be shifting above the rpm range where you're experiencing any powerloss.

Mostly concerned about lowend torque for city driving? Stick to OEM.

Are you looking for more passing power on the highway or better track times go with an aftermarket intake.

Is it same for exhaust (will I loose low end torque with cat back)?

I misspoke i meant id get the ssr performance intakes, JT intakes and then bms intakes. The reason is because of their design accounting for restrictions and the eay they help against hot air. Ssr performance i think is the true cold air intake right now.

They look pretty good. Why do you prefer BMS over your K&N?

The heat shielding isnt all that good, and i broke that plastic adapter 3x while installing it, i ended up having to use loctite adhesive on threading and only did one full turn, since when i followed their directions it broke everytime, maybe thats why they kept sending the part to me under warranty. Ill give them that. Now im not saying its worlds better than k&n, just that id probably would have gone that route if it had veen available. K&n sounds good thouh. No noticeable performance when ininstalled it, just sounds good

JTs look good but the price is quite high. I think the injens and agency look the best performance wise the ssr have to be be the best gains available.

SSR is certainly the coldest but does use that small oval OEM duct which concerns me.

I don't understand this community's silly obsession with these damn heat shields! If you folks are truly concerned about heat soak, wrap the pipes in DEI reflect-a-gold. All these intakes do the exact same thing, with or without a thin shield around the filter. Any marginal gain/loss between this brand or that is insignificant. Wrap pipes. Beyond that, intercooler and meth. Case closed.

100% Agree. That and Low-End Torque are starting to get more attention these days. For a car that can hit full boost by 2300 RPM and has an 8 speed transmission, there are very few times that you really need to be worried about it. Plus, IMO, any mod that can free up the restrictions leading in and out of the turbos will be worth it.

Weight and Transmission are the two issues that I am excited to see addressed ... Figuring out getting this heavy beast off the line and more responsive on the shifts.

The ssr has a lot of piping, I would be concerned in a reduction in throttle response. Has anyone tried it and can report?

I was set to add the BMS intake to my list of mods, but was informed they wont sell to California residents. The sad part is they are located down the street from :(

I actually just ordered the reflect a gold for the aluminum piping on the Stillen intake.

Post pics of it after you finish. Are you removing it to install?

Do you have a way to measure before and after temps?
