What happens if you plug in the module, but don't plug in power to it (pull power)? Does it revert to normal operation (passthrough?), or does it mess everything up?

I'm asking because if that works, then maybe adding a small switch could let you switch back and forth between "normal" operation (comfort, sport) and "super-stiff fun mode"? That would be VERY nice. Then we can pick from 3 modes on the fly, more or less.

I’ve got this Tuner installed now and a few observations...

The is easy to install.
You must take off the steering column cover (3 screws).
Take off the lower knee panel cover (2 screws).
Also remove the dashboard side cover, visible when the door is open (just clips).

The tuner does save settings after the car is turned off and restarted.
Your Factory ECS is fully functional at all times, even when you set Comfort or Sport mode in the app, you still have two levels of that mode that are selectable with your regular drive mode switch by the shifter.
So you can have Comfort (App) + Comfort (Car) or Comfort (App) + Sport (Car). Or the opposite...
Sport (App) + Comfort (Car) or Sport (App) + Sport (Car). Very nice.

Thank you so much! I'm still missing ONE detail. For the 4 combinations you list CA/CC or CA/SC or SA/CC or SA/SC - HOW do you select? Let's say I want SA/SC (Sport(App) / Sport(Car)) - does selecting Comfort mode then become Sport(App)? And I could select Comfort mode in Custom to also apply that? How does it then work if I want CA/CC? Which selection do I make for CA - Sport mode? And Comfort Mode remains CC?

So we can override ONE of the modes, and whichever one we override, the ONE other remains stock? We can't override both?

Sorry for being a bit obtuse. Definitely thinking of ordering one...

Based on what I’m feeling this would be a great combo for springs. You would get to lower the car and then tune the dampers to match the spring rate.

Ty, I’m still a bit confused about what your saying about the cars ability to select settings versus the apps ability select settings. Are you saying you can program the car settings with the app or are you saying that you can have the handling from the app and the throttle and steering from the car settings and you can mix and match those? I haven’t been able to determine this yet but I drive.

I think I see what you are asking...
The App has predefined settings for Comfort and for Sport.
Just know that your drive mode selector by your shift know still works.
To get to Sport Car and Sport App, select sport in the app and sport on the cars drive mode selector too.
To get to Comfort Car and Sport App, select sport in the app and Comfort on the cars drive mode selector.

After the tuner is installed, none of the modes or combination of modes is as bouncy as stock.

The tuner gives you two base suspension modes Comfort/sport. You can fine tune those two selections softer or firmer by still using the cars suspension mode selector too.

I went back to stock before installing the tuner.
Honestly, the preprogrammed Sport and Comfort modes in the App could use just a bit more dialing in.
It’s good, but I think springs and definitely sways would still be beneficial.

A long way of saying that the cars console mode selector can still toggle between the selected tuner mode softer or harder, within that mode.

The console selector does not change the tuners mode.

I guess I should add, that you can use the custom setting in the App to create your own setting...
Here, you can in fact stiffen the shocks to the point where sways seem unnecessary. But ride quality suffers and if you go too far you can induce a bit of high frequency bounce at the front. Ever seen a lowered civic quickly bouncing/oscillating sharply over the road? It’s that effect, if over done (overdamped too much).

I’m still in the trial and error phase of the custom settings and have only just begun to figure out what works well. I’ll give updates as I learn more.

Wow Ty, it’s like we have a 2nd level of tuning on top of each app tune. Very flexible. I’m so glad I bought it. This has to be the best mod for the buck for this car. If you get to a point you have a custom you’d like to share I’d be very interested. I wish I could see the apps sport mode tuning set up.

Not much time to checkout the best settings... but my own 85% harder at all let me be 3 seconds faster!
And YES, i feel the better contact to the ground.

Yeah, The Apps Sport and Comfort modes are predefined and cant be changed.
You can only make those modes slightly stiffer or softer by tuning the Sport or Comfort dial that’s standard in the car.

Comfort mode in the App has better body control than the Kia Sport mode.

Thanks Ty, I was thinking that the module loosing your setting on shutdown, and needing to go to the app when you wanted to make a change would be a deal breakers for me.
But If you wire to constant power so it keeps its last setting, and you really still have 2 suspension settings to select from in the car after setting the module with the app.

This is looking like a real contender for my money!

I also like the idea of adding a on/off rocker switch in line with the constant power. It does 2 things. Lets you clear the app selected suspension tune and go back to stock quickly. And, it also prevents the battery drain when storing the car for longer periods.

Exactly, pick Sport or Comfort based upon your needs at the time.
Personally, I rarely use Comfort as I like the body control as tight as possible. The actual ride quality difference is minimal between all of the modes. It’s the body movements that are most significantly changed.

Custom mode in the App... Before I say that it has two modes (via the car mounted mode selector) I need to verify with my scantool, because the difference seems much more subtle here. I’ll test today and let you know.

I’m not sure your losing the settings on shut down. I set the system to full stiff on a custom setting on the app and then shut the car down, then restarted the car, the car remained full still. I’m running a switched 12v source.
