Changing badges

People still know it's a KIA. I'm not rebadging to hide that it's a KIA, I'm rebadging because the KIA badges are ugly as sin.

Yes they are ugly lol. I don’t want to stuff around as I’m scared of damaging paint. That’s why the E badge works better with this type of car, it suits the car.

As much as I like the rebadging you have to ask yourself if the Kia badge was treated with respect if we would all change it. I had a lengthy discussion with Sting about this and we think it’s our job to keep the badge to make people aware Kia has changed its game and is now producing a high class world market sports car. Kia will most likely change the badge on the near future to the E badge which does look better but we don’t want to keep people guessing we want them to know this is a good Kia car and that past reputations don’t count. My badges are going to stay . That’s my two cents worth.

The Stinger will also be re-badged. I'm not going for the "K" or the "E" badge, however. I'm going to put the circular "Kia Motors" emblem on the front and the larger Stinger script on the rear.

I want people to know I'm driving a Kia but as has been mentioned the "Killed In Action" emblem is very unattractive. I like the classy look of the Kia Motors badge. I like that no one seems to be using it. And I love that I won't have to constantly deal with "is that a Lexus?" or "what's that K stand for?" anymore.

Agree 100%, with your way of thinking, i have no intention of changing any badges, im proud to show off the Kia badges,i want people to know it's a Kia when they look at it, i have said it before, and i will say it again, there is nothing wrong for those who wish to rebadge, i am not interested in telling people Kia designed and built this car, my Kia badge will tell them that, the thing i know i will LOVE the most, is when my Stinger is getting more attention than any Commodore SS, or Audi or BMW or Mercedes nearby, think about it, you've seen one of those other cars, you've pretty much seen them all.
I personally do not take notice of them much, the Stinger is new and will be rare on the roads for a while still, im gonna be so proud of my Kia Stinger, no matter what German or any other brand is sitting next to me, there the ones who should be afraid..haha, and 0 to 100km times do not concern me either, that's not how you drive everyday, and lastly, as for the cars that are faster, Stinger was not designed to compare to like an Audi RS5, so who cares, finally out of all the brands i have mentioned, not even one of them will turn heads anywhere close than Stinger will out there on the road.
That's my two cents worth, and a little bit more...haha

I plan to leave the KIA on the front hood, but replace the rear with the larger "Stinger" chrome. I'm undecided about the wheel caps.
I wonder what KIA thinks about all this rebadging. Obviously they sell them that way outside of the U.S., Canada and Australia.

doing the same, and purchased the other day also, but going with black (matte) Stinger logo on the back rather than chrome
debating what to do with the logo on the rim though; only option I've seen is the "E", but would prefer a "K" that's not a sticker

There aren't going to be any wheel options for a "K" that are not a sticker...

But you can buy the entire hub with the "E" logo. I expect that will be updated to include the "K" logo in the future....

What makes you think that? Those pieces come straight from Hyundai Mobis in South Korea. They're not going to make "K" versions. And I doubt anyone will invest in making the same pieces with a "K" on them outside of a vinyl decal. That's actually something I'm doing - I have a legitimate "K" that Kia uses in Europe. Very similar to the KLexus "K" you see many people use. So THAT will be an option - but it's just a sticker/decal on top of the Hyundai Mobis product when all is said and done...

I'm actually going to plastidip the Stinger logo for the back. I just couldn't see paying an extra $40 to have someone else do it for me, especially since I already have a garage full of paints/plastidips.

I'm with you on the wheel logo (and steering wheel). It needs to be replaced. I'd go for a set of the "Kia Motors" emblems for the wheels if they were available. I guess we'll have to see what comes up.

I actually bought it while I was on the long ride home from the dealership. By the time I got home an hour later I looked at my email and the tracking info was already there. Doesn't get much quicker than that!
