Duh. I could have just looked at the stupid thing.

Does anyone know if the firmware is available and how to update the app to run the canbus features? Provided I can figure out how to run this cable I might give it a shot this weekend.

@Kamauxx I believe none of us that did the beta testing have a BMS order number because we paid the same way you did. I just emailed him as reply from the email conversation we had about purchasing the JB4 asking for the cable, and attached a screenshot of the paypal shipping invoice along with the email.

Terry got back to me this morning asking me to confirm the shipping address to send the cable to, so I'd assume that was enough information to go with.

Thanks I'll do the same.

With thr piggyback it is undetectable. With a different ecu the dealer will know it has been swap.

So you're saying a Kia tech will know even if the ECU has been swapped back to the stock unit?

Well yes if you go in for service and forgot to swap the original back in that if you have a cel light on. Then vin is program into the ecm.

Okay, I understand that. I thought you were saying it's detectable even if swapped back to stock ECU.

Has anyone update the firmware via IOS? With help found the link but when I attempt to dowload it stalls.

Perhaps this would have been obvious for everyone else.... The app must be connected to the jb4 and the engine must be set to “system check” and away it went. Good to go. Now to run the cord... not feeling super hopeful given recent struggles

Dustin I just email Terry too about the cable. Did you send him the PayPal transaction id cause I did not get an order number. I haven't got an email back from him yet.
I had my order# from the email when I bought the JB4. I was told they didn’t take PayPal when they stared the group buy on the testing. And I have not yet heard back from Terry.
Where in the world do we find our order number? I just paid with PayPal and got the JB4 3 days later. There was never any information sent to me.

Hmm, PayPal transaction ID?
you should have got an email from BMS saying your order was shipped back then. Search your email history?

No it was different for the first 10 I guess. I used PayPal and have a transaction ID. They never emailed me anything. The package just showed up a few days later.

I late to the party but it's good to hear the canbus is active now. Will send for it on Tuesday. Happy memorial day everyone.

There's a little grommet on the driver side firewall that Terry poked the cable through. We ran the cable under the weatherstripping?rubber lining? that goes along the base of the windshield. I think he's going to post the pictures of the install at some point but I can also take some in a couple minutes.

Thanks. Contacted Terry this morning. They’ve updated the instructions on the website with the how to. Just finished the install. FYI - if you get the 46in cable, you’ll need to place the unit on the driver side.
