Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

I just did a couple of 0-60 runs. Using some cheap video editing software to view the videos by frame my 0-60 time is 4.29.

This is with the default map.
That's awesome, Couple bolt on's with map 2 easily in the 3-second range.

Since i have the patience of a child on Christmas Eve I've decided to install mine today instead of waiting.

The obligatory "got the box" pic.

I didnt think you could do it either. I know i didnt.

Im thinking warmed tires with map 2 should see a 3.9999. My first try at this was a 4.7ish. Doing it again right after I shaved 4 tenths off. If I had properly warmed the tires I probably could have got to high 4.teens

This is going to be AMAZING! I'm anxious to see who gets into the 11s first. It won't be very long... Tune, intake, exhaust and maybe downpipes, intercooler... That should do it. Then you still have methanol injection. At that point we'll probably see people doing upgraded turbos for ten second Stingers...

Just to make sure I understand; the unit is available online now for $400, but it is still the Beta unit... correct? I'm jealous of you guys that got it for $200 :,(

Still an awesome deal if the tune turns out to be good and safe!

I'm really tempted to go and warm the tires and try again on the same street but there's probably a bit of traffic there now. Here's a video of the <4.30 second run.

Right, "if".

I wasn't going to install it until others tested it out because of that "if". I'm kind of surprised they're selling them at full price and still saying they're in testing phase.

Hopefully that means something has given them a lot of confidence in the safety of the tune. I guess we'll find out.

Something tells me it's going to cost more than $400 out of beta when all is said and done...

I did an edit of the video where the starting point was when the speedometer was a mix of the numbers 0 and 3 and the ending point of the video was a mix of 58 and 60 on the speedometer. The software I'm using can only slow the speed to .125x so it's hard to save it with that time. But with that edit the car actually did a 4.26 0-60.

Rwd or awd?

When I first joined this forum I was like wow the lap3 is going to be the best option for my new stinger and then problems. Then the RaceChip is introduced and reviews are just starting to roll in so I was like wow I’m going to order the RaceChip. Now I see the jb version and I don’t know what to do? Do I wait cause something better is coming soon or do I wait for a ton more reviews on the jb and RaceChip to try to make the best decision?

Same. Things are looking good for JB. Dont know what the final price will be and I'm a bit hesitant to buy the Beta version for $400 (would have JUMPED on it for $200 though). It'll come down to cost and user reviews for me to decide between RaceChip and JB.

My stinger only has 129 miles on it and I’m thinking of getting to 1500 or so miles before adding one of these options.

Just from what i know and my experience, im steering clear of lap3, jb seems best so far, however RaceChip seems pretty good from what ive seen and heard. I think u will have to take into consideration, any future updates possibility, performance gain, pricing and how well its selling, since that will determine any future for said product. Lap3 has a good reputation with ecu tuning kdm, but the chip is not an actual tune and it brings on too many headaches...my opinion of course.

Update:

I uninstalled the JB4 today to do a 0-60 comparison to my results from yesterday. Today the temp is the same, I used the same exact piece of road, and had about an eighth of a tank less fuel.

I tried three separate times and the best time I could manage without the chip is 4.53.

My unscientific verdict: the tune sheds about 1/4 second from the 0-60 using the default map.

I'm interested to see the diference on a track and dyno (sadly I have access to neither).

Thats still prettt good, compares to the 4.7 claim kia has, and w an otherwise stock car

Fair warning, setting 2 is agressive and traction control has gone for decent to completely useless during boost in the rain in summer tires lol.

The logging isn't quite as desirable as I'd like from the module itself, partly because it's not got a live view (or I'm missing it somewhere) and partly because we don't have canbus working for this module yet so anything besides boost values are erroneous or non existent.

If it will stop raining long enough for me to get a good patch of test area to log with, I can show a handful of full pedal runs on the snap-on machine to show the rpm and speed climb comparisons from stock to setting 1 and setting 2.

What software are you using to make changes? Does it install when you plug the box up or did you have to download it?
