Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

I usually increase the water when I increase the boost.
That seems counterproductive. The main reason for running WMI is to increase octane so you can run more boost. Methanol is what adds octane and is about 110 octane itself. It takes more octane to run more boost, so a higher concentration of meth vs water typically allows for more boost to be added. Many people only add 100% meth to increase octane, but adding water helps cool the intake air temperatures so the combination of both has extra benefits. However it’s the meth that changes your octane levels and is what prevents detonation at higher boost levels.

Yes but octane can be increased using boosters and/or better fuel. Also lower temperature in the cylinders also prevent detonation in some way.

A higher water mix lowers EGT, but also provides less octane and fueling. So it's always a balancing act. If using race gas keeping some water in the mix is a good idea. On E85 though EGT is already going to be fairly low so less of a concern running straight meth.

Ah thank you. I reverted back to Map 2 before I did any damage. I guess Meth is the next best thing to do.

Gather some logs running 93 on Map 3. For consistency sake continue to use Costco. Once you confirm that timing isn’t being pulled and everything looks good, you’re a-ok. You just don’t want to be running blindly, that was the point of my sarcastic post.

So if someone had good logs running just 93 & 50/50 mix, would you recommend bumping to 80/20 to run boost additive of 75 or 80 like others posted? What would be the settings and meth mix for max HP on 93?

Look at the log and evaluate 6cyl timing to see how octane looks. I'd probably run a 50-60 additive on 93 octane and 50/50 WMI, and save the full kill mode 75/80 additive settings for the E30 fuel mix and a 80/20 WMI mix.

What is the step beyond full kill mode?

Zero service - acts as an AOS, effectively, albeit a more efficient one? It looks great!

I assume not suitable for a car running on E85 (as what you collect in an OCC on an engine running E85 tends to be pretty yuk, and not what you'd want back in your sump)?

Ordered! Look forward to having it on. Hopefully it can get shipped in the with the stuff I ordered last weekend, since that hasnt shipped yet either

Nice clean look. Straightforward install?

I don't see installation instructions for this - where is the drain connection to run the oil back into the crankcase?

A vacuum side OCC catches three things. Condensation water, unburnt fuel, and oil. The mix of all 3 makes for a soupy looking mess.

The condensation water and unburnt fuel are no problem you want those vapors going back in to the engine during vacuum operation. It's the oil that is the long term problem. This allows the vapors to pass (e.g. water and fuel) but stops the oil.

Oil is captured in the can and gravity drains back down to the crankcase through the line it originally came. :)

So gravity alone is enough to keep it from continuing on with the condensation and fuel?

How long have you guys had it on your shop car?

No gravity drains the oil back to the crankcase. The triple baffle and volume expansion separate the oil droplets from the vapor. We've had one on our development car for a few months.

Terry,

I bought one yesterday to try.

Is it possible for oil sludge or oil accumulation to clog it? Should it be cleaned once a year? Can a tiny amount of oil get through with the vapors? It sounds too good to be true but worth testing, because I like your products and want to support. Keep up the good work!
