Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

My car just suddenly lost the ability to build boost even when the JB4 was set to map 0. No CEL and the JB4 code reader did not find anything. After restarting the car the issue was gone. Is this happening to anyone else? i read that this was an issue on older firmware but im on V9.

When it happened it was running map3 in comfort mode, FUD7 on. did a pull in 2nd then after that no boost. no other mods doen to my car except denso plugs.

attached is a log is took when i was unable to build boost in case it shows anything weird

Likely just be a byproduct of the FUD.7 on. Some cars throw a passive reduced power mode under the old linear logic. Has to do with driving style.

Happened to me a few times. Typically happens when the car is either not warmed up all the way or I blip the throttle from full throttle off and on. Its limp mode and only way to clear is to restart the car which is inconvenient when you are on the highway.

Thats weird. I've been driving it pretty hard over the past week and not one hickup. Today i was just cruising and decided to click down and hammer it in 2nd. Only difference i guess is im usually in sport mode.

The technical trigger is generally fud.7 on, and rolling off the gas pedal slowly while under heavy boost.

Map 3 is considered for 93+ octane with booster in it. You could had been detonating and it went into safe mode.

Need some advise with those that have installed the WMI kit. I just want to be sure I am doing it correctly.

1. For the below picture. Do I just push the hose into the elbow?

2. Do Just push the elbow fitting into the pump?

3. Does the fitting with the O-ring in the correct position? Or should it be flipped around?
upload_2019-5-17_18-34-25.webp
4. The direction the arrow is pointing means the direction of the flow? Meaning the arrow should point towards the bms nozzle?
upload_2019-5-17_18-36-21.webp
5.
Same deal with arrow on the pump? The fitting goes from the bottom of the tank to the pump where the arrow goes in ? The area that I have the red lines I should put paste there?

@Terry@BMS please help, thanks

You push in the push/lock fittings. Move oring to other side of WMI nozzle, the small hole is where the fluid is injected. Teflon or silicon goes on any screw in threads, but not the compression caps.

That’s ok so they just push in? They even thou is push in they car still spin correct ? For the elbow feetings?

Also for the the arrows mean the direction the flow should go for the filter and the fuel pump?

On my picture I had the fitting the way installed on the instruction but you told me to flip the O ring? I am confused.

I flipped mine from the picture per your instructions.

Move the oring to the other side. You have your nozzle installed backwards.

LOL

Sorry I am confused...

So the fitting is installed correct but just move the o ring......that is how the fitting came with the o ring on that side.

There is one side of the fitting that has a tiny hole and the other looks like open space. Does the tiny hole side screw to the nozzle or does it doesnt?

Terry I took pictures. Is the fitting in the correct direction?

If the sitting is in the correct direction , I just have to move the o ring to where i circled red?

@Terry@BMS

Can you please confirm if the fitting and o-ring is installed correct?

Yes that looks correct now.

Angel on the pushlok fittings push the tubing in...and then a gentle tug back ...that confirms its locked...also always be sure your tubing cut is clean and straight....they make plastic tubing cutters but you wont need one...just a good clean cut (razor blade) with no rough edges.....on the compression fittings...tight yes...but do not put the Hulk tighten down on the fittings...same thing on an oring...if you tighten down too much it will pooch out and then leak maybe....if it was me I would have put a hose dill (insert) into each end of the hose that goes into a compression fitting.....gurantees no leaks and no crushed tubing :) Wash

Wash thank you ! I knew there would be point where I would say this “ love you men”

LOL when you said “do not put the Hulk tighten down on the fittings” you totally described me and I was about to do that. I have stripped many bolts on the past. Hahahahaha.....

WTF are you was a professional plumber, how do know you this? This is my first time installing a WMI kit or using these type of fitting/connections.

I don’t what you mean by the last comment “ I would have put a hose dill insert into each end of the hose that goes in the compression fitting” what is a hose dill insert ? Do you have a pic? Can I just buy a Home Depot?

I was skeptical when I pushed the tubing into the compression fitting. The compression elbow can still move from side to side and if you pull on it it comes out.
