Braum Racing Seats- Installed!

The seats themselves are not adjustable at all. between the side brackets and the bottom plate, you can adjust for seat rake, with some side to side movement, like to mount the seat further inboard or outboard, and then some front to back adjustability. Once everything is bolted together, it's essentially one unit, with only 4 bolts mounting it to the car.

So it's a hassle to get it all figured out in the beginning, but once you do, you're done. I can have the seat back out and the stock seat back in maybe ten minutes max.

The 5 point harnesses are designed to mount in the factory seat belt mounting locations and are clipped to eyelets so you can have those out in 2 minutes. The front seat belts stay in place so once you unclip the harness, you are back to stock instantly.

the seats are pretty comfortable. I'm about to find out how they feel on a two hour road trip to the track, LOL.

Sounds great - so like 10-15 minutes to switch either way?

I realize your seats are not adjustable - but what about the "not fixed back" ones you mentioned to lex.x. What is the difference between yours and those?

yes, 10-15 minutes you are back to stock.

Braum has a great selection of seats that are very sport and supportive, that mount using the same floor plate (Planted Technology) bracket, but the seats are what they call "bottom mount" which mount on sliding rails, so you have the ability to slide front to back, and recline the seatback to your liking. those would naturally sit higher in the cabin and be useable for anybody, regardless of how tall or short you are. You would lose the ability to move the seat bottom up and down and the heating and cooling aspect, but if support and being secure in the seat are more important, plus custom/sporty look, Braum has you covered.

If you are into modding your car, but not a road course track guy, the adjustable seats would be great! Their faux leather / alcantara options are very nice. I was a bit skeptical about their fit and finish, just based on price, but more than pleased once I actually received the product.

As I mentioned, I did get a partial sponsorship from Braum, but honestly they are legit and look super cool. Harnesses are great as well.

Looks so good! Would love to do this but a little worried about the comfortability of it as a daily driver.

thanks man! it's not bad. you have to devise a new way to get in and out though. LOL. like first thing in the car is my head, then the rest follows. kind of weird as the sides of the seat are so high. once you're in they're great. There are less aggressive models that are likely way more comfortable, but still look super sporty and can accommodate the 5 point harness.

taking a shot at reposting the pics that were showing sideways...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I read through this forum so hopefully I didn't miss it, but when switching to the bucket seats, did it trip the airbag light? I know the stock seats have airbags on the sides so I wonder if it trips the light or if there is a way to bypass

yes, airbag light was on. There's a way to deal with it which involves putting in some sort of resistor to trick the car into thinking everything is normal, but I never figured it out. Just drove around with the airbag light on. Not positive, but it may also disable the passenger side front airbag. I think you would need to remove the pressure sensor stuff from a stock seat and install it inside of the seat padding in the new bucket seat. not an easy process. For the track, I wasn't really worried about it as we're wearing 5 point harnesses, helmets and using hans devices, but for daily drive I just put the stock seats back in the front only. If I had it to do over again, I think I might have gotten the Falcon S seats that recline, and put then on slider rails. Not quite as sturdy but they probably would work pretty good on the track.

Team, Finally got around to getting the Racing seats installed. Big shout out to Braum for a partial sponsorship for the project.

I was looking for something that would work really well on the track, but be livable from a daily drive perspective. They are definitely aggressive, but as little driving as I do, I think they will be fine. Went with Braum 5 point harnesses as well. Really nice.

I also used the Planted Technology seat mounting brackets, as well as the side brackets that actually mount the seat to the bracket. Although after the mods I did to raise the seat height, the Braum side brackets would have been fine. I was looking for height, so the additional adjustability of the planted brackets seemed necessary at the time.

The Falcon S, fixed back buckets I got look great in the car, and the red stitching really blends in with the red interior.

The seats literally don't move a bit. Very solid, even with the aluminum risers I fabricated to get the seat height right.

The harnesses all mount to factory seatbelt locations, with the use of the various brackets and clips Braum sells. Happy to answer questions either on this thread or via PM.

If you track the car, this is an amazing mod!!!

i know this is an older thread, but just looking for update over the years. any issues? i've seen BMW people attatching harnesses to the car seat anchor points in the rear seat, and theres a few kits out there for certain cars, but not the stinger. So was thinking about making my own kit cuz i would only need the harnesses in once every few months.

I sold the car. LOL. I kept the seats and will look to put them in the new ride just for track days. It definitely works and you can get all sorts of seats along with the universal mounting bracket from Planted Technology.
